I did letters like these on my 2000 Mustang bumper back in the day and they aren't hard. I recommend using a spray bottle of soapy water. spray the surface then lay on a letter and you can slide it around to position it then squeegee the water out to adhere it.

Here's a tutorial:

Thanks for sharing this! After watching the video, I'm still a bit anxious about trying it, having never done more than just a plain ole decal. I love the Maverick name, but for this purpose... so many letters! 🤣

Are there any states that have restrictions on the reflective material?

Are there any states that have restrictions on the reflective material?
Here is a link to the Federal Regulations:

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/49/393.26

(d) Use of additional retroreflective surfaces. Additional retroreflective surfaces may be used in conjunction with, but not in lieu of the reflex reflectors required in subpart B of part 393, and the substitute material for side reflex reflectors allowed by paragraph (c) of this section, provided:
(1) Designs do not resemble traffic control signs, lights, or devices, except that straight edge striping resembling a barricade pattern may be used.
(2) Designs do not tend to distort the length and/or width of the motor vehicle.
(3) Such surfaces shall be at least 3 inches from any required lamp or reflector unless of the same color as such lamp or reflector.
(4) No red color shall be used on the front of any motor vehicle, except for display of markings or placards required by § 177.823 of this title.
(5) Retroreflective license plates required by State or local authorities may be used.

State regulations, of course, might vary but I doubt there will be any problem with using reflectors that don't cause confusion.

Just ordered reflective black for my Velocity Blue XLT which won't get built for months. At least I'll have something Mavericky until she gets home. Thanks for the idea!

I'm a fan of the black reflective lettering idea! Someday (eventually) I'll get a notification that my Mav is being built. I have the lettering site bookmarked and ready to order.
Will look sweet on Area 51 in person, and be a nice compliment to other aftermarket items I'll be adding to my Lariat.

Someday ..........

Was wondering about the Black tape on my newly delivered XLT with the catus grey , ordered the floor mats thru Ford Accessories and Cooper Discovery at3 225-65r17 thru Tire Rack the continental tires would not cut it in upstate NY near the border we here know snow and cold.
If you get these, post pics please, thinking about these for my CG

Thinking of the same ones for my cactus grey is it ever gets built
Agreed! These would look great on a Cactus Gray Maverick and the idea that they reflect white at night... even better! Kudos to someone offering these at a reasonable price. Doesn't Ford want over $100 for much the same thing? (and the Ford version isn't reflective to my knowledge).

I'm late to the game here but just picked up a Maverick a few days ago. The ebay page no longer exists for these. Does anyone know if there's anywhere I could still buy these black reflective at night letters?
