Consider a Tacoma if safety and reliability are your priorities. Frontier active safety system is at least a generation behind Toyota.

You can google doc's the video and set it to where only people who get the link are able to view it too... although not sure why that would matter after uploading to a public forum anyways... but just FYI.
Out of all the dashcam footage I have ever seen (and it's a lot) I have never been able to hear someone slamming on the brake pedal (including myself and my own videos). Maybe I just have not been looking for it either and maybe mine just sucks with sound.
Either way, the investigation is closed at all is well? Then who cares what we think

When I told my daughter "the insurance company does not want to pursue the investigation of the brakes and just want to settle the claim,", she told me, "I want to know what happened". At least I filed with NTSB, so if there are any more situations like ours, it's already reported. Be Safe out there with any vehicle, all brakes are electronic.
I guess we're not going to see the video.
What exactly does settling mean? Did you have full coverage on your Maverick?I can't imagine there is any way the other driver is even 10% responsible if they had a green light or any other right of way when your daughter t boned them.
So, what are they doing, waving your deductible? Agreeing not to drop you? I'm sure you're going to get rate increases.
My brother has an ecoboost and he swears by the collision detection. He had a car suddenly stop in front of him and the truck braked automatically and prevented a collision. He said it scared the crud out of him but it worked.

The thread title is misleading, the OP has made a baseless claim about mechanical failure, and has resisted numerous calls to post video evidence he claims to have and validates his claim.
He has stated his own insurance does not wish to investigate further, and anyone can file a claim with NHTSA. NHTSA is not investigating the OPs claim.

You most definitely do not have to believe her AND try to convince us that the vehicle failed and is unsafe.
You can accept that she believes she pressed the brake and move on. That's what I am doing.
