The topper on my F-150 came with a built-in light that used two "D" cells. I never used it. I would say a modern cell phone flashlight was brighter.I stuck a battery powered light up in the middle of my topper. It held Two ‘D’ cells,
Remember those?
I think the value is that they took the legwork out of gathering the parts, so you get exactly what is needed without a bunch of extras left over or coming up short on something and having to go to Harbor Freight/AutoZone/wait for Amazon.Only issue is the price. $100 is a lot of coin for $24 in parts.
Personally I find hood struts to be not very useful. My F-150s and F-250 had them from the factory and I found it pretty inconvenient for doing work right against the firewall, or if I wanted to open the hood further, or less. Now you just need the 2 hood struts....get that support out of your way.
Is the under hood insulation factory? And what was the cost of that light kit?what product is the sound insulation under the hood?
