A long time ago someone posted (I forgot who) that the truck won't go into EV drive above ~50 mph if the HV battery was under 45% charged. After 15 minutes of testing myself, I agreed this was true.
THIS IS NOT TRUE
The truck will go into EV drive at any speed and any battery charge level.
It is just less likely to do so with less than 45% charge at higher speeds.
I have noticed Truck dropping into EV on downhill descents at highway speeds with very low SOC on many occasions over many months now. In fact, I try to crest a hill with low charge, to make lots of room to refill the battery on the way down.
It's not guaranteed but I've had the engine shut off at 65-70 mph with battery in the 30's on multiple occasions.
