since Fords emissions warranty is 8yrs/ 80K miles I guess we're talking cat back. by the time the stock pipes are toast I'll be ready for that in any case.

I am wondering about that second cat not being monitored. Wonder if it goes away if there is any advantages for the ecoboost engines because the turbo would be less restricted?

Someone else here said that their 2023 did not have the secondary cat nor the second muffler on their ecoboost. I'm wondering if Ford did this to save money and is only including the pipe with the secondary cat on vehicles with cali emissions requirements

Good question - wonder if the fuel mapping changed to the ones with or without? Or if it can overcome the lean condition that might develop.

I doubt it's flowing that much more exhaust to be honest, the primary cat is already probably limiting when it comes to back pressure. Also, modern day computers are plenty capable of adjusting fuel trims to compensate for added air flow to an extent. It typically becomes an issue when you're flowing more air than your fuel injection system can handle.

Not knocking you at all, each is entitled to do whatever they want with their own truck. But I think: cleaning welds/seams, painting exhaust, giving any thought to short/long trips, VS $400 for a proper exhaust, bolt it on and forget about it…. Easy decision.

I will wait to spend that money when needed and not before. I bought the vehicle because of the good price and buying a new exhaust to replace a new exhaust makes no economic sense to this old fart! Easy decision!

Correct the 23 don’t have the rear resonator , I have a 22 and 23 hybrids they sound the same

Realizing that moisture inside the exhaust absolutely will deteriorate the exhaust, I cleaned all the exhaust system.

Talk of replacing the muffler (no matter how shabby it may be) before it is necessary is sort of getting the cart before the HORSE!
