Engine noise during regen

Noticed a new noise at about 1,500 miles. During regen, there is a noise that sounds like a tractor trailer doing the Jake brake but not nearly as loud or aggressive. It is especially evident when going on a long downhill. Anyone else?

HVB regen capacity reached (about 72% SOC) so engine braking activated.

Thx. I noted engine braking since day one, however just noticed the new noise after a number of months (and 1,500 miles)

Most likely the hill just maximized rpm of engine braking which is very loud and at some point will have hydraulic assist.

Being winter and especially if you remote start to warm up the ICE will run long enough to charge the HVB to its full threshold so you get the engine braking effect when slowing.

yes - just like a Jake… and it turns the fuel off. The battery says no more.. so they had to slow it somehow other than the wheel brakes. Basically the engine becomes an air compressor.
