Considering the fact that people are paying 10k over MSRP for these I'd say you did relatively well. Enjoy your new ride
Most dealers here in California is 5-6.5k mark up. I won't pay it. Some have not much choice with used cars a premium as well. I just think it's a slap in the face to loyal customers.

I originally ordered an XLT Lux hybrid Area 51 in August. A while later I changed to ecoboost to add the 4K tow and fx4 packages. I still have not received a production date. This was at my local dealership in Illinois.

I needed to get a truck by springtime, so I had to either find a Maverick or consider a different model. A few weeks ago, I started looking for Mavericks in stock at dealers. Luckily, I was able to find this XL with 4K tow and the color I wanted. It also had other nice features such as floor mats, power driver seat, 400 w inverter, and CP360. The MSRP was somewhere between 26-27k. I got it for 28 before tax and fees, around 1500 above MSRP.

The dealership was in Wisconsin, around 150 miles away from me. The buying experience was great. I emailed them late at night and they emailed me back and called early next morning. They allowed me to immediately reserve the Maverick. After that, the paperwork was all handled over text and email. The next day, I was able to go to the dealership. The truck was ready and all of the paperwork was done. While I was signing the papers after looking over the truck, the manager installed license plates on the Maverick and I was ready to go in less than 30 minutes.

Both the buying experience and the truck have been great so far. I will review the truck more in depth after I have driven it for a few more weeks.

Nice. Enjoy your truck. My buying experience at the dealer was grueling. It could have been done in 30 minutes, but every 15 minutes the salesperson disappeared for 20 minutes.

Only a fool watches all the Mavericks pass him by while others pay a slightly higher price in a Supply and Demand economy.
Stopped in to pester my dealer and found another salesmen had a cancellation he just sold for 7K over MSRP.
The difference between Jan Terri and myself is I bought my Maverick for MSRP.
Dealers charge more than MSRP because they know there are fools like Jan Terri who will pay extra because they just have to have want they want NOW.
If everyone stuck to their guns and refused to pay anything over MSRP dealers wouldn't be ripping off their customers.

It's an open forum and my opinion is a valid as anyone else's. Don't like it......tough sh*t.
I tried to change my order to TWO XLT's. Then I could make some extra cash selling #2
over MSRP. Interested?

It looks great and the good news is there's enough after-market stuff that you can add just about whatever the XLT might have had. More importantly, you got your truck! Safe and happy travels!

While waiting for my Mav (and not knowing if I wos ever going to get it) I tested a Santa Cruz. Nice little truck listed for around the same as my Lariat FE. Dealer wanted 10K ADM. I told him thanks but no thanks and that I'd wait for the Mav. Originally ordered the Mav the first week of Jun 21 got it Dec 1st 21. Glad I waited.

Sorry to see the negative comments. I will add that only a fool cannot read -

$1,500 BFD

We are all in this for a while and on the same boat, waiting for the end result. Let's try and be civil and helpful for just a little longer

Only a fool pays ANYTHING over MSRP. (n)
Times change. Good luck with that idea going forward.

No one is homo-economicus and makes perfectly rational purchasing decisions. It's just a trunk.

Congrats on the very rare find! It's always the luck of the draw when you can find a Maverick anywhere! I did the same thing in January. I ordered a hybrid XLT with lux pkg and CP360 on 15 October. In the middle of January, I got tired of waiting as well, and I began a search in the Southeast for a hybrid and any trim level. After many inquiries to Ford dealers, I got super lucky and found an XL in Charlotte. I did all of the financing online, flew up to Charlotte, picked up the truck, and drove home 546 miles. While the truck I found was an XL hybrid, it was Velocity Blue, the same color I ordered. It had a spray in bed liner and trifold hard top tonneau cover...and it was sold to me at MSRP. I currently have over 1400 miles on it, and love it!

With my original hybrid XLT that I ordered, the writing is on the wall that it will be rolled over to a 2023 model. Anything before that will be a complete surprise!!

For those wondering what I plan on doing with the hybrid XL that I currently have is I plan on selling it for "fair market value". It's up to who buys it whether they will pay it or not. That's not for me to decide. Just like at any car dealership that adds a "fair market value" to their vehicles, I'm going to sell it for whatever the market is.

I'm in WI. Which dealer did you work with? That markup isn't terrible.
