Purchased the EGR bug deflector off Amazon a while back and was easy to install. However, as the temperature has been warming up more bugs are out and now my windshield is covered in bug guts. The one reason I bought this for and it does nothing!

Which deflectors actually work because this thing is going in the garbage.

I see that Realtruck has the AVS Bugflector II Bug Shield for a decent price...please help!

I have the AVS Bugflector II Bug Shield , and it helps, some, but not a lot with the bugs. I think it helps more with keeping stuff from hitting the hood rather than the windshield. To keep bugs off the windshield it would have to be pretty tall in the front to the point of causing a lot of wind resistance.

From what I've seen on here the AVS Bugflector II Bug Shield is the only one that somewhat helps with bugs and even then, only somewhat. But it's the best of the available options.

Except it's been out of stock everywhere for three months now and I don't know if they're actually going to make another run of it. Hopefully they do, because of the above, but I've been waiting since January for a restock and it hasn't happened yet.

Edit: It looks like if you dig enough, there's still a few places that have one or two in stock. I just bit the bullet and paid the premium to order one from some place that claims they still have one. Hopefully they do and it ships.

Let me know if it helps with bugs on the windshield. Others have said these products are to protect the hood and not the window.

Can do, but since my trucks not going to get here until sometime in July, it might be a while before I can give you an update. 652 days and counting...

I care less about bugs then I do about gravel and road debris.
The AVS deflector seems to do what I want, so far anyway.

Calling them bug deflectors is almost a joke.
At highway speeds, you are killing any insects your Mav front end hits.
You aren't going to deflect jack!

But yes ... the debris is what I want to hit the deflector rather than any painted surface.
If a piece of debris happens to be deflected away from the windshield - Bonus points!!!

If we call the unit on the hood a bug deflector, then folks with a moonroof should call the
moon roof wind deflector a "bug catcher".

Maybe the bugs bounce off the hood deflector and end up in the "bug catcher" up top :)
I know mine is filthy with dirt, pollen, and bug guts.

The AVS Bugflector II is back in stock, and a discount is available for MTC members. My total out-the-door cost was $69.69 this morning.

All I can find is the smoke. I've been waiting for matte to match the rest of the plastics.

I’ve never seen the matte in this AVS model. I didn’t know it was a thing, but I would recommend you use their “Chat” to ask about it.
