Edmunds dropped their review of the Maverick. It is apparent their partial to the Santa Cruz. The consumer reviews score the Maverick 5 stars from the 12 reviewers so far!

The things they dinged it for doesn’t make sense. It drives like a truck, so they knocked it off for bumpy ride quality. The cost is low, so they knocked off for having to pay more for optional packages but those that don’t need them can save some dollars. Interior may be fair but again doesn’t cost as much as other pricier alternatives, like the Santa Cruz. Not sure what kind of range adjustment they expected in the driver seat or wheel. We’re they thinking about needing to adjust it to the top of the roof, lol. Or better yet, maybe the Edmunds reviewer needed extra room for the stick up his a$&.

It was clear from their first reviews edmunds had a weird bias towards the SC. Their "cons" are def weak at best. I've sat in both manual and power seats and gone through all the adjustments. Totally acceptable for any normal person. The wheel scopes and tilts just as much as any other car

Seems rather dumb. The Santa Cruz reminds me too much of the likes of the Subaru Baja, Ridgeline, Avalanche etc. Something with a bed that is trying desperately not to be a truck. I want a truck. Once my hybrid xl arrives, I will be judging it for what it is, not something that costs 10k more.

Probably fair. If money were no object, the Santa Cruz probably does come in ahead in the graded categories. However, if they think the Santa Cruz is a better value, they are mistaken. That's why I'm here... Well, that and the Santa Cruz looks terrible.

This thread is in danger of becoming an echo chamber of shills who can't accept that the Santa Cruz is a legitimate competitor to the Mav.

Almost everyone here is either purchasing a Maverick or is already driving one. So, yes, we believe that the Maverick is the better vehicle.

Personally, I researched both--and decided that the hybrid XL was FAR better than any Santa Cruz trim.

Does that make me a shill? No, just a fan who made an informed decision. Is this an echo chamber? Maybe--but not a blind and ignorant one that term might suggest. Rather, it's a bunch of people like me who made informed decisions--and we're not afraid to champion the little truck that we love.

I take it that you put fuel economy and value for money above all else. That doesn't mean it's true for everyone. Plenty of reason for someone to prefer the Maverick or Santa Cruz over the other. The salt over one website giving the Santa Cruz a slightly higher rating is just sad.
