On a recent 95 mile trip I had Forscan hooked up to check my battery voltage, battery state of charge and battery current. I was surprised to see that with such a low state of charge the battery was only charging at 2 to 3 amps. At the end of the 95 mile trip the state of charge only went up 11%. It looks the alternator isn't charging the battery enough.

We've had our Maverick over 3 years already. I recently replaced the OEM battery with an AC Delco (non AGM) battery, as I noticed the battery wasn't coping well with our winter temperatures. -25C to -30C overnight is very hard on batteries, and I was seeing the charge go from 13.2V to under 12V overnight!

After replacing that original battery, I was surprised to see not much improvement, which made me investigate, to try to understand why so much battery drain. I charged up the battery, using a 2A charger, to 13.2V... and then turned off WiFi and automatic updates.

Next morning I metered the battery - under 12V again. Looking for other things that could be draining the battery, I noted Bluetooth was ON, so I selected that OFF, charged 'er up again, and next morning still saw under 12V.

The Maverick uses the built in router WiFi connection for the FordPass app, and that must be ON for remote start to function. To turn that router OFF I turned off FordPass Connect, again fully charged the battery, let is sit overnight, metered it next morning - better, saw 12.1V

I metered across the battery posts with the truck running, saw 14.2V, so the alternator is outputting sufficient voltage, but of course I don't know what amperage it's charging at.

Our Maverick is affected by the 12V battery inspection recall, 25S02. I'm hoping there's a software fix to improve charging.
