I just don't believe some of the mileage claims. For the EB or Hybrid. I don't believe you can run 70+ mph and get 40mpg on an EB. I don't believe you can run with traffic, not "hypermile" in city conditions and get 50+ mpg in a Hybrid. Can you do either of those while hypermiling? Yes.
But in the real world I get about 34-35 in my Hybrid around locally. Lot of stop and go. In city driving where there is not so much stop and go, I can easily get 42-43 mpg. Don't yet know what my 70+ mph highway trip mpg will be. I have also reset the mileage computer on the dash to be more accurate and to match what I get when hand calculated.

If I could have gotten 25 mpg around here and 32 mpg on a trip in an AWD EB that would be something I would have been very happy with. But you cannot flat tow any EB Maverick.....

I drove my Mav to Phoenix and back just 2 weeks ago. about 650 miles. I set my cruise at 70 and ran the air about half the time. I divided my miles by my fuel used from fill up to fill up. My 22 Mav has 9,000 miles. I got a little over 32 mpg using 87 octane gas. Nobody is getting a legitimate 40 mpg with their Mav eco unless they are only driving downhill all the time. I was happy with my mpg and know it was as good as it gets and am happy with that.
MPG threads always end up being...

My EB gets 25-26mpg overall.
I average 33.5 over 16,000+ miles

How did you " adjust the AFE Factor to get the dashboard MPG readout to be more accurate"?
I just figured it out on my non-luxury XLT:
Doesn't matter if the door is open or closed or the seat belt is fastened or not... Just as long as the OK button on the steering wheel is held firmly before the key is inserted and turned to the ON position (2 clicks), but not to the START position (3 clicks). Release the OK button as soon as the green ET is lit at the top right of the center gauge display just left of the temperature. (If you hold the OK button too long the green ET disappears.) Then use the Ok and MENU buttons to explore.

I had trouble the first few times I tried it because I think either I might not have fully depressed the OK button and holding it down completely or I might have been accidentally bumping the START position on the key... Just tried again a couple times and it worked.

Interesting info, but the only thing to change is the AFE Bias Factor. I won't try to adjust mine, even if it is a little bit optimistic on fuel use... that little lie just makes me feel better šŸ˜

About 8500 miles in and avg 30 mpg combined. Did get excited when I seen 36 mpg with 50 miles on a fresh fillup. Still extremly happy with the truck. Hopping winter cooler weather will add another 1 or 2 mpg.

I was very surprised at how efficient this little truck is. Anyone else getting these numbers?

LOL- In my hybrid I do. My per tank average so far (10k miles in 6 months) is 44.3mpd (miles divided by actual gallons. The dash computer lies a bit).

We drove from BC Canada to Florida last January over all average was 32MPG and the best was through Texas at 38MPG, doing the speed limit in every state, so pretty happy with my EcoBoost sitting at 12K miles right now, with a little over 20K kilometers.

I've hit that on the highway over a 92 mile mostly highway drive. What I consider my best was last Spring when it was damp and chilly most of the time, I hit 36.8 for the tank with 2/3 highway but including 56 miles towing a landscape trailer with a garden tractor on and not on the highway. Take it easy with the right foot and use 93 octane and you'll see great mileage in eco mode. Tow or use the go fast pedal and it's merely acceptable.

Is that based on the ā€œcomputerā€ or do you do the actual math?
Computer shows 34.1 the 33.5 is based on a rough calculation of about 10-15 tanks that the hand calculated mpg was either plus or minus 1 mile of the computer. The truck computer is pretty accurate.

If you want to get a true idea of what your mileage is, try using an app-

I use fuelio on my android phone...

I kept a little journal in my truck and wrote down the miles and gallons to fillup. But I didnā€™t do it for every time I filled up. The problem with even doing that is where you fillup if itā€™s level or not and making sure to fill up exactly same every timeand using exact same pump. which is impossible to do so I basically just use the Maverickā€™s computer. Doesnā€™t really matter to much as Iā€™m going where Iā€™m going. Main reason I keep up with mpg is if it suddenly drops off for no reason it would indicate a problem.

600 miles SHOULD be beyond your expectation as it will not happen...

I drive my Hybrid out of my garage and frequently show 999.99 MPG on the display.... I have a high degree of confidence I won't be getting 14,000 miles on a single tank.....

I just reset and drove a 200mi trip pretty conservatively on the pedal. It got 27.2mpg per the computer. Mix of highway interstate and rural 2 lane roads and small town traffic.
