What all did they change from the earlier model Maverick Eco Boost engine and the 2025 Eco Boost? I see the air intake is different. the 2025 doesn't look like pic's of the 2024 and earlier model years. I know there was mentioned a particulate filter on the 2025's but there seems to be a completely different system in the emission lines (routing)
New to the Maverick world, so asking. I haven't found anything anywhere as to changes other than the reduced HP rating.

Thanks

Reports are fuel injection at both intake manifold for each intake port, and the direct injection Into the cylinder. This setup to prevent coking of the valves, a well known issue with direct injection engines.

For us pre-2025 owners without this intake injection, or fuel washing of valves, probably have to do the walnut nut cleaning bit, for service. IMHO, one should just keep trucking, as dirty valves probably a non-issue if one not mind some degrading, slight loss of power. In my youth, early 60s era, I did many valve jobs on heads. Yes, valves, both intake and exhaust, were dirty. We just cleaned them up, resurfaced seats/valves, ground the valves and moved on. No injection back in those days, but gas vapors did wash the intake valves. And that was with PVC system employed to capture crankcase blowby oily vapors, similar to what these Maverick engines employ.

I have seen that about the new engine, but have not been able to find any information on ford's site. Can you direct me to where you found that info?
Thanks

I just picked up my 25 xlt EB Saturday and did some fact checking from another post about the gas particulate filter. On inspection I only see downpipe, cat, secondary cat, muffler, and tail pipe. He was saying the gpf won't be on the trucks until job 3 of mavericks (i believe that's one built mid-late spring possibly).

Do a search here, this site, for the new injection system. On another Posting, the fella posted a view, picture showing the newest 2.0 engine dual injection system, complete with PN’s. It’s out there somewhere….

I too have done valve jobs ,bottom ends too. We could grind the valves or lap them in by hand. We also knurled the valve guides . Back in the day guys would pour water down the carburetor while the engine was running ,and rev it up, loads of stem came out the exhaust. They claimed it took carbon off the pistons ,but I just thought it was showing off. Probably not good for a sluggish Maverick ?

look up Eco boost MPC. It's a completely new design. Block, head, pistons crank, everything. Started with the 2023 Mustang 2.3 same family of new engine designs- 1.5, 2.0, 2.3 Ecoboost engines
