Duh !!

I titled this because I had a DUH moment . I very seldom drive after dark. That is just how thing are ,no special reason .
I,m pretty good at timing traffic lights so I don't sit at red lights waiting to turn .
The other night , around 10 PM I was stopped at a red light and I noticed that traffic light had a Flashing ring around the outer edge .
This is where the DUH moment comes into play . I turned my signal off and the traffic light stopped flashing . I said to myself ,self , these new front bulbs are flippen bright .
I hope these Lasfit bulbs don't cause a problem for oncoming traffic .

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think about the bulbs being brighter & brighter. There are times when I swear the car coming towards me has the brights on, but when I flash my brights, they flash theirs...and it's even brighter!

Is there a threshold for low beams? Like they can't be more than 10,000 Lumens or something like that? It seems like there should be, because sometimes they're too bright for me.

My wife and I are going to switch vehicles one night so I can witness first hand how bright MY truck lights are coming d toward me . Maybe the cars coming toward you have something in the back causing the lights to shine more upward .

There is no problem . Just a concern about the brightness from these bulbs . I for one do not want to cause a distraction because of my lights . Thats all.

The newer lights have a more accurate pattern and are not actually much brighter. What bothers a lot of people is that they now have much more blue in the output. If you're starting to get cataracts or have other issues, the new light types will really bother you. I bought some yellow driving glasses to filter some of it out, and it helps quite a bit. Then there are the wonderful people who install aftermarket LED and Xenon lights that are illegal for road use and don't bother to fix their cutoff alignment...

I saw them on a commercial. Someone went to a think tank with his idea and now it's one of those 2 for $40 specials for a limited time type of thing. The way they work is they don't darken what you can see and they keep the damn blue light from blinding your retinas.

Mine are over 40 years old ,they don't darken ,they do the job tho .

Like when you stop but there is no stop sign... or you have a green arrow but you think it's a solid green so you sit there waiting for traffic to go straight... Other drivers look at you crazy and you mumble "wth are you doing, go!" followed by "oh..."

It's sad though because sometimes this is enough to cause so much rage in other drivers that it puts others at risk. People make mistakes. Just chill! Sometimes even a toot of the horn to let you know that you are the one in the wrong is enough to cause rage. I just sit there patiently and quietly to avoid this. Also, if I am the one who made a mistake I try to avoid any sort of gestures as they can be misinterpreted.

A standard vehicle low beam headlight is about 700 lumens. 10,000 Lumens on low beams would be insane.

Montana , I myself ,have never had any lapses like you mentioned . But I like you , just sit and wonder exactly what chromosome is missing . LOL

Yea I know the reason for this post was the brightness but it just made me think of actual "duh" moments lol.

My issue wouldn't be and never really has been with oncoming traffics turn signals, it's always the LED's in halogen housings or improper aiming, and in rural Montana it's VERY dangerous when there are no other lights on the road and the highways are narrow with inclimate weather. I wouldn't worry too much about your turns, but it's awesome you are considerate enough to contemplate it.

Also, sometimes with many lights they are on a sensor, so flashing your brights will trip them.
