Downshifting delay

Anyone else annoyed at the delay from the time you hit the gas pedal to downshifting? I had the same thing in my edge sport. Dangerously slow reaction time when you’re trying to make a move.

Sounds like you need paddle shifters lol just messing with you. Normal all cars automatic and turbo takes a little time to downshift.

Older transmissions with a solid kick-down linkage could be adjusted for near immediate downshift. There are some things about old technology that I miss.
However, I bet you could find a tuner that knows how o adjust the kick0down response.

The issue is amplified with the 8,9,10 speed AT's everyone is using now. When the ECM calls for a rapid downshift, there are more gears & algorithms to sort through before the hardware kicks in.

Generally, if you're in a lower gear, the down shift is quicker. But if you're cruising along in (8-9-10) at 50-60 mph, then suddenly go to WOT, that will require more time for the ECM to sort out.

Sounds like every car with Automatic transmission I've ever driven....

Not the one I grew up on, my 389 Pontiac/Turbo-Hydramatic was quick, even at 70 and would hold that downshift past 90 (never checked how far past).
Edit: of course the fuel economy did leave a bit to be desired.

No sport mode on the tremor. I’ve been thinking about tuning it but don’t want to break shit and void my warranty.

Sport mode can be added via Forscan and it won't void your warranty. Sport mode definitely wakes up the Tremor a bit.

This will sound weird but I have noticed that if you give it just under full throttle, sometimes it will shift much faster than if you floor it fully.

24 is too new. Waiting for forscan to add it then send me the test build. Did you do it on yours?
