Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

Read my later posts, it became clear that this is an inadvertent locking of the driver's door only. It sometimes happens when you pull the latch and push the door open with the same hand, often when in a rush. Your hand winds up pushing the manual lock rocker below the inside handle, locking just the driver's door. No electrics are involved.

Some 2020-2024 Escape, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles may exhibit the uncommanded locking of the driver door after the door is closed. This may be due to the driver placing their hand on the interior front door handle and inadvertently pushing the manual door lock toggle into the lock position. No repairs attempts should be made as this is design intent.
