This $15 roll is enough to apply to all of your door sills and still have enough left over to do an additional truck and decorate your own shins or whatever.

I have been very pleased with how it has held up. No curled edges or indications that it wants to release from the sill, and for a hard, grippy, pebbly surface, it is easy to clean. I am tempted to lay a patch over the blue plastic on the driver's side here.

Be Careful. On my Miata, I got well-made metal sill protectors that look similar to the black ones shown here. They worked great. One of the first things I ordered for my Maverick was a set of sill protectors for $53. THEY TURNED OUT TO BE TWO DECALS. My bad.

I bought a 4 inch wide roll of “carbon fiber” style decal and made my own. Many of the versions being sold were already a glorified decal, so I figured I’d just make something. I made my version far longer than anything else I’ve seen, particularly the back doors. Most/all that I’ve seen for the back doors was just a short stubby piece covering the horizontal section only, which isn’t very long to begin with. So, I did the whole lower section in two pieces, including a piece going up the approximate 45-degree sloped section as well. The rear pieces cover probably 2 1/2 feet in total, all the way to the next angle where the “rear of the rear door jamb” goes vertical.

I've ordered a set of these, I thought that being steel alloy would make them more durable than the vinyl ones. Here's some pics as to the size. I will install some clear paint protection film on the sills first and apply them on top of that.

I like the looks and coverage this offers. Does the texture make it hard to wipe clean? Not looking for something like skateboard griptape but also don't want anything smooth.

It is very much like grip tape, but so far I have found that cleaning off the dust and grime is very straightforward.

You can't use a microfiber cloth on it, but a rag made of an old washcloth with a fair amount of liquid in it wipes off the dirt easily.
