The driver's side door was replaced after an accident. The keypad on the exterior of the door won't respond to the old code. Any easy way to reset or locate the current code? Contacted body shop about it but they're currently closed, just seeing if there's someone who knows that can get me squared quicker. Thank you!

A hardwired keypad should use the same factory (and user) code on the BCM. Unless the keypad was damaged, I suspect that the body shop would've transferred your existing keypad over to the new door - not every component gets replaced. Could be wrong there.

What happens when you try to enter the code on the keypad? When you hold down 7/8 and 9/0 for a couple seconds, do you hear the door locks click?

The keypad was listed as being replaced. I personally never used it and am not even sure how other than just pushing the buttons in order. The new owner has just driven it away but I'm trying to help him out with this. Thank you for your quick reply.

Along with the owners manual there should be a card that shows the code number(5 digits) for both US sold Fords and on the other side the code # for foreign countries 7 Digits) If not then the center screen can also show it I believe.

As previous posts have stated, the code is not stored in the keypad itself, that is just an input to the BCM which stores the code. The factory keyless code which a previous post states is located on a card typically in with the owner's manual is a permanent code that will never change(unless the BCM itself is replaced.). Typically, on Ford vehicles if you have both original/ or 2 programmed key(fobs) in the vehicle the keyless code will pop up on the instrument cluster if you just turn the vehicle to on without starting the engine. However, I just quick glanced through the workshop manual and the owner's manual and it doesn't mention this way of accessing that code in either area. It states that it is located on the card, or available by visiting a dealer which would require a scan tool to retrieve the code. But it is still worth a try(2 keys in vehicle and just hit push button start button with out foot on brake)

What trim is it? CP360 or no? Another possibility is the driver's door module (if present) was also replaced and not configured properly.

XLT, no CP360, no push button start and I do have the card with the original code number on it. You push the number buttons in order and nothing happens. Contacting new owner later today to have him test the 7/8 + 9/0 locking combo to see if the unit works at all.

For what it is worth record that number someplace in your phone. You don’t want to lose it, and won’t do you much good when you’re locked out if it is in the glovebox.
If you have the Ford app you can unlock it from your phone.

If the card that came with owners manual is not present, then the code is on the passenger floor well sticker on the fuse box. Pull off the cover, there is the code on the sticker. That is how I found mine, since dealer forgot to give me the card. I did get the card later after contacting them.

The code on the card or sticker is used to setup an entry code for the vehicle.

I just had my doors lock with engine running and my dog in the vehicle luckily rt rear widow was open for the dog but panic set in and forgot my key code I set a year ago, I just went in the OBC think under setting and changed the code with the key on you can change it.. Can someone tell me why my doors are locking with engine running should lock after you drive away not in park. BTW I know someone going to say use the ford app to unlock the vehicle and that works BUT not when the phone is in the vehicle with the dog.

I suspect the body shop failed to connect the keypad harness. Or they used the wrong harness for the door if it had been damaged badly and it did not have the connector.
As said before, the keypad has nothing to do with the code. It simply sends the signal.....

I don't know about your dog, but I had a Lab whose bear paws managed to lock me out of my Fusion more than once. The keypad is one of my favorite options. With my luck, the phone is just as likely to be in the car when something like this happens.

Don't you know that your phone should never leave your hand, even when driving.
