"CajunMick",
I have only used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or Mobile 1 since 1989. Out of curiosity, how much price difference for an oil change is there between synthetic blend and 100% synthetic?
I'm assuming no cost difference in the filters.
Thank you
My first oil change at Quick Lane with blend stuff was about $80. If did full synthetic, would be about $120. Lucky me, got that first change at $0, Fordpass paid for it!

That's the info I was wondering about.
I do my own oil changes and I've never looked into anything other than synthetic. I was out of the loop as far as prices.
Thank you for your reply🤝

If you change the oil remember the old FL910S filter does not fit the 25 Ecoboost engine. You need a FL2127 filter.
Have read that the FL-400S also fits.
This filter is a little taller then the FL-2127.
Right or wrong?

These super early oil changes. Wowza,
If there is so much junk in the engine to warrant throwing out
a filter that soon your engine is likely detonating and nothing you do will stop it.
The filter will not clog up and go to bypass within the first 5,000 miles.
The blended oils additive package holds up well beyond 5,000 miles.
I will ‘Break In’ my engine on blend for the first two changes.
Then at 10,000 miles I’ll go to full synthetic.

Most Everyone will attack me and tell me I’m dead wrong.

Two examples of engine life doing it my way below.

Example.
528,000 trouble free miles out of a 2.7 Liter 4 banger with
Mobil one changed at 10,000 mile intervals, often so busy I’d go 12,000
No early oil changes once on full synthetic.
When new I changed out the roach oil at 5,000 miles
with more roach oil and then at 10,000 miles I filled with synthetic.
I wore it out, compression was dropping, Ya Think !
528,000 miles.

Second example.
394,000 miles out of a AMC 4.0 Ltr straight six designed in 1957
and converted to EFI and put in my 1996 Jeep Cherokee BY JEEP
because they couldn’t build a decent straight six.
Jeep bought thousands of these motors. Because AMC was going out of business.
I bet they got em cheap as all hell.
Mine got only roach oil at 5,000 mile intervals.
The crank bearings were thinning down and the crank was starting
to vibrate due to the play in the bearings and that beat the rear main seal to death.
Again I wore it out.
394,000 miles in case ya missed that minor point.

You guys are throwing away good oil and a like new filter.
BUT
You cannot be wrong, ever.

Those early oil changes were helpful when engines were built before
good CNC machining came along and oil was primitive and had all kinds of crap In it.

You would never believe me if I told you of the many guys
who changed the filter every other oil change and
they got the same engine life as every one who
changed the filter every 3,000 miles.
Back in the 70’s through the 80’s and before then
changing oil at 3,000 was sound science.

The oil gets recycled and the filters go in land fills. Nobody cares about that.

It’s your money. And perfectly fine with me if you spend it like that.
It’s just that IMO it’s such a waste.

I just paid $54.99 plus tax for an oil change with Mobile 1 at Walmart this past week.

Ouch. Full synthetic at my dealer was $70 and the 6th one is free. But then all my Fordpass points when to replacing a tire with a screw in it too close to the sidewall to repair so you're still ahead.

$79 service with Full Syn at my local Ford dealer and the fifth one is free. Odd right !
