Does the Maverick have an in house Navigation system or do you have to use Android Auto with Google Maps and the Apple version hooked up? I know older cars like 10 years ago have free in house navigation maps. I know a lot of newer cars have navigation that you have to pay a monthly fee to use or whatever that sucks... I'm fine with using Android Auto but it be nice to have a default one to where you don't have to hook your phone to all the time....

You'd need a 2023 (not 22) Maverick, Lariat trim, with Lariat Luxury Package to get built-in navigation. Your XLT means you will have to use Android Auto (unless you're willing to spend the time and money removing the factory touchscreen and related components and replacing them).

See this thread for what that upgrade would entail, making sure the APIM you selected has navigation built-in: how-to-sync-3-4-swap-for-non-sync-3-xl-xlt.11860

Also note that Google Maps is "free" but Ford charges for map updates.

Thanks Jsus for quick reply.. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally fine with Android Auto..(since I'm coming from a car that doesn't have anything like that) Just wondering what it has... I ordered hybrid XLT with Lux package no extras...

This is correct. On my 23 Lariat Hy Lux: Nav pops up every time you drive, seems cool, only if i didn't remember how to get to work.... need to do a road trip and get lost.

The built in nav isn't great. Android Auto is better. Don't get me wrong I use it from time to time, but it's search engine for looking things up is weak and the route calculation slow. Poor job of adjusting best route for traffic as well.

There's always the Garmin option too. It's dirt cheap, works great, and is easily mounted in or atop the dash cubby. I keep one handy in the console storage box. Nice to have as a backup.

I have the MY23 Lariat which has the navigation. However, I enjoy much more the Google Maps and even on occasion the Waze maps. Sorry Ford for the put down. For those not wanting to use Car Play then the Ford navigation will do. I use the wireless car play module and it makes using Car Play so much easier. Only draw back is it takes about 30 seconds for the Bluetooth to connect to my phone and get CarPlay up and running. No big deal for me. Google Maps really is an awesome navigation system. Using CarPlay also allows me to use the one subscription to Sirius XM that I have for another vehicle. Why pay for two subscriptions when one will take care of both vehicles plus home use inside.

Well, I own a stock 2021 bulid XL Maverick and with the hotspot option on the older version of Ford Pass can track your vehicle without a cell phone onboard. Even though you couldn’t access any navigation on the sync screen. The app at home can track your truck when your girlfriend for example borrows it !! Lol
