I was wondering if the 2.0L Ecoboost has the wet belt for the oil pump?

2.0L EcoBoost oil pump is driven by an internal chain.

Ok. The reason I asked because I know there are vehicles out there that have the wet belt for the oil pump and wasn't sure if the Maverick with the 2.0L had the wet belt or had the chain.

No wet belt on either variation of the Maverick's Ecoboost.

The Ranger's higher power Ecoboost option has one I believe, another reason to skip that truck.

I own both the maverick and Ranger neither have wet belts and both are great trucks. The Ranger is my daily driver now.

4 cylinder?
Fairly certain the 6 cylinder has a wet belt.

2.7 has a wet belt. No significant issues reported in the 10-12 years that engine has been in the F-150.

Does that also apply to the pre-25 models?

Yes. All 2.0 Ecoboosts since its inception in 2010 have had a chain driving the oil pump, as did the Mazda L, its normally-aspirated predecessor.

Yes, sorry to clarify.

Original Ecoboost - Direct injection only (pre-25)
Current Ecoboost - Direct and port injection

No wet belts on either.

The best thing about belts is when they aren't used under the hood.
The earlier Subaru's (pre-FB) had a timing belt that was wonderful at turning an engine into junk when it snapped.

Why Ford would use a belt for the oil pump sounds like a similarly bad idea.
Glad it's not a Maverick implementation.

BTW - Belts in Mavbrid = Nada, zip zilch. (y)

Lots of engines have used wet belts and have for a long time, Audi, VW, Stelantis, Skoda. They are quiet and last long, as long as the recommended oil spec is used, and additives that conflict with HNBR are kept away from the belt. Ford Nano, 2.7 and 3.0, 5.0 V8, the 2.0 Ecoblue diesel, use wet belts.
