Does anyone else have this issue? The weatherstripping in my back window appears to be lifted off.

The weatherstripping in the corner doesn’t sit against the glass and it’s allowing water and debris to collect beneath it. If water gets past the second barrier, it ends up in the cab. I brought it to my dealership and they were unsure if this was normal or not because they didn’t have a maverick to compare it to. When I walked around the lot to look at F150s, many had something similar in this corner, but nothing to this extreme. My dealer will be getting back to me in the next few days to determine if this is normal or not. Unfortunately, the entire back glass and sliding window is all one part so the whole thing would have to be replaced.

Why would the dealer think a leak was "normal:?

Rear window seals don't seem to be a technical discipline where Ford is likely to challenge, say, Honda anytime soon.

Here is a picture from my own delivery inspection of my truck, which the dealership thought was perfectly acceptable.

I always figured the reason auto windshield & back glass now has that black masking around the edges of the glass is to make those sealant irregularities less visible.

Mine has similar sealant irregularities, but I had never seen it until I saw this thread, went out and shined a flashlight on inside of the back glass. It really isn't visible in day to day use and doesn't bother me in the least. Now if it actually leaked, yes, it would. But it doesn't leak.

🤷‍♂️

Mine looks the same and my 2016 f150 was the same as well; never experienced any leaks

Ford determined it was normal. All of the F-150's I looked at on the lot had the same issue. So, I'm assuming it's normal. It hasn't been a problem so far. We'll see how it shakes out in a few years.

Well one man's normal is another man's messed up, but to my eyes that doesn't look normal.

i have the EXACT same issue, its bothered me from day one but i wasn't able to produce a leak despite showering it with water continuously and assumed they would not address it because of that.
but it does bother me much, both on an aesthetic level (i know, i know, its a truck! but its MY truck) and also just from a potential leak scenario. sad to hear its considered "normal", though i would argue, and if so, why is it just on the one corner of the window and not everywhere, and also, why does it just look wrong (answer: because it is)
