I wonder if anyone would allow people to test drive . I bet it would be a lot of folks just wanna drive the truck since dealership doesn’t have any on hand especially the hybrid.

Well, you have to use your judgement but with a copy of the person's DL and insurance I don't think a short test drive is unreasonable for a serious buyer. You can always ride along.

I agree with these suggestions. Also, you could go to a local high school on a Sunday and let them check the Maverick out and drive around the parking lot to get the feel of the truck without going into traffic situations since you don't know their driving experiences..

Contact your insurance company and ask what you are covered for. Maybe collision is on your company and bodily injury is on the driver. Make sure the prospective buyer shows you proof of insurance (they should have that document in their car already).

That said, I would not let them drive it alone. Have yourself and at least one of your friends come along.

A long time ago, I noticed a Mustang being driven like it was stolen and I followed (as best I could) while they did burn outs and generally abused the car. Their worst abuse was to drive it down railroad tracks.

They took it back to the dealer and walked away. I told the dealer what they did but I never found out what happened after that. . . .

Have you contacted Carvana?

Good luck.

I Had a White XL Hybrid. I Have seen the MPG at 57 MPG and have told folks about it. 2 Cousin, Nephew and Brother all said BS. A man at TSC while picking up Feed. A Elderly Couple at a Garage sale. My Preacher at Church and one Deacon. I let them Start it up and Drive it if they wanted too. 2 Cousin and Brother after getting 47 MPG on a 15 Mile Run. They Were Gunning it on the Highway something I do not do. They All wanted to order one, I Sent them to the Dealer( Ask and I will tell you the One I used No Hassle Just went in and got it. ) They all order a 2023 and So Have I. The internet sales person they Have is awesome. Why Did I order a 2023 when I had a 2022. Because Carvana ii thought was insane. I Got just under 31K for My 2022 Mav. I followed it they Sold it Five Days later in MD for 41K. Yep and when I get a 2023. If they Pop 10 K over again. What Can I say, I do love the Mav But I like Making cash too

I sold my 2006 Mustang to a guy who didn't want to test drive it. Worked out the deal, payed me, and asked if I could hold on to it a month or so until he was ready for it.

By this point he owned it, so I was like sure, I can let it sit in my garage for a month longer.

He then called one day and asked if he could test drive it, I said "It's YOUR car, you can do whatever you want, just tell me when and I'll be ready." So he asked me to meet him at a shopping center I was heading to, to watch football. He came in and I gave him the keys, he was gone maybe an hour.

Came back with a huge smile on his face, and admitted he hadn't driven a stick and a long time, so he was nervous taking a test drive in front of me, but had a blast.

It was good for me too, as it gave me one last drive to and rom the meeting.

Couple weeks later I brought the car to him, for him to take full possession.

A brief test ride with the owner present is a common courtesy when selling a car. That said, I've sold motorcycles before and I would NOT allow a test ride. I would, however, tell the buyer that after he paid for the motorcycle he would have 30 mins to ride the bike and if he didn't like it or found some flaw I would refund his money. In other words, no test rides but after payment there was a brief window to get a full refund.

Always a good idea to bring someone with you when selling anything. Meet the potential buyer at a police station parking lot in the daytime.

Only car I purchased with out driving was the Mav in my picture. Was a dumb thing to do since it had a fancy B&M shifter that required a pull tab and a push down of the handle to get out of reverse. I took a ride along but never noticed it. The guy had to come back to my house to show me how to get it into drive. Ahh embarassing youth...

I have bought new cars and motorcycles without driving them. I have sold a few motorcycles that the buyer just loaded it after paying for it and left. If they want to drive my vehicle for sale, they hand me the full price in cash only and I tell them "You break it you bought it".

Once, an older woman in Walmart parking lot asked me about my Maveric and I let her sit in it. I would not have taken her for a ride or let her drive it. She never asked anyway. My neighbor ordered a Lightning, and his wife was thinking about buying a Maverick. I let her and him drive it, but I was in the back seat.

My dealer was best ever so I told him if anyone was really interested, I could bring the Maverick down to the dealership. I would let them sit in it, open the hood and that's about it. That has not happened yet.

When I went to pick my truck up when it shipped in, my salesman said he never drove one. I gave him the key and we went for a ride.

while typically i would allow a test drive on any car I was selling, in this specific case with the Mav, i would NOT.

I did not test drive a Maverick, I pre-ordered and picked it up without ever sitting in one. It's a rare vehicle that is not typically available so the potential for people to just want to joy-ride or people who have pre-ordered and want to test drive one is too high.

In this market, you could easily sell a Mav without offering a test drive.
