Cruise Control, Heated Seats and Heated Steering Wheel all SUPER worth it because I live in the country in Alberta (lots of highway) where it regularly dips below -20C (extra warmth is greatly appreciated). I don't even know what else the lux package comes with but I knew I wanted those 3 100%

I think I have the Luxury Package with my XLT (power driver's seat, heated Steering Wheel/Heated Seats/etc) but it came with a Drop-In Bed Liner not a Sprayed-On Liner. But I bought mine off the lot of a dealer as the original purchase fell through.

The Dave Ramsey fan in me is wondering if I really need the added luxury package. Anyone else in the fence for cost alone?
Reasons why I did not purchase XLT luxury package.
Cost.
Did not want proximity key system. Don't want the start stop button. Don't want expensive to replace proximity key. Have experienced problems with other vehicles proximity systems when battery was low, when sensor failed, unreliable sensors on key or doors, start button not detecting key. :frown:
Rarely use heated seats or steering wheel.
Prefer the steering wheel standard on XLT.
Did not want drop in bed liner.

I bought an XL Eco with a tow hitch, my personal highest value for dollar option. "Need" is a horribly misinterpreted word when it comes to people "justifying" what they purchase. Particularly true with vehicle purchases.

Consider two key items...
- Vehicles are one of the worst depreciating assets you will buy. The more you spend the quicker/more you lose.
- option packages and trim levels are where auto companies make biggest margins. So by definition your value for $ there is lowest.

For those reasons I would generally advise people to avoid options unless they are completely in love with them. The fact you even question it would indicate it's a "no".

One last bit of food for thought. A thought exercise to maybe offer a new way to look at it. The lariat is roughly 1.5x the cost of an XL. One could ask themselves "will I like the XL 50% less"? Similar with the cost of your package as a percentage of the whole.

Worth it for me because I really like a heated steering wheel and seats, but also because the spray in liner and hitch would be added anyway. I get a few bonus items that I may never use but can live with. Really wanted the proximity key entry and push button start, and also like the Active X seats, but would have to get the Lariat Lux package and that pushes into the mid $30s. Not going there, so XLT Lux w FX4 gives me a lot for $4000 less.
Yup!

I got it for a few of the things on it and ended up enjoying most of the things on it. For the price, very happy with the Lux package

You don't need anything, the truck is good to go. It's what you want that's not on yours.

XLT with luxury package benefit for the hybrid - with heated seats and steering wheel, I rarely have to turn on the heat in the truck until the temperature drops below 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

So the gas engine will run less - at least that is what I seem to experience...

My xlt lux has physical key start. No start button, no key proximity.

To each their own. I use heated seats all the time. no push button on my XLT lux. No copilot 360 on mine either. I put the DIBL in myself. Heated steering wheel was great in winter on those cold days. First vehicle I have had with it, can't go back now.
