Just wanted to show you all the kayak ( removable ) rack I built with 1 5/8 " Galvanized Unistrut Rack . I put both my 12'6" kayaks on rack and worked great!

I would love to get more details on this. It looks like you're using the DIY unistrut rail solution, but I also see cross braces. And is this suspended on the rails? I would think you would need the legs to extend down to the bed, to an interface that takes the load and protects the bed from wear. Wood or plastic with rubber would probably work for that. Great work!

Too old and short to use an over the cab rack since I yak alone. Get the bow up on rear crosspiece and just walk forward.

Hello , 1 -10' length os 1 5:8" Stainless unistrut( for m6 maverick tapped bed rails) 5 lengths x10' of 1 5/8" galvanized strut, 12- 1 5/8 90degree 4 hole angle clips and 50- 3/8" X 1 1/4" cap screws, 50-3:8" flat washers and 50- 3/8" unistrut nuts. Hope this helps.

I love Unistrut and that rack works but a hitch mounted rack is sooo easy.
I'd take your rack, make it 2' longer and you'd have a sleeper!
