The Maverick bed bike rack is the perennial DIY project. Here's my entry:
Only one piece of 2x6 pine. Using two M8 x 150mm L-Shaped Right Angle Bolts. These fit exactly into the provided hole in the bed.
I'm happy to say the engineers at Ford provided a surface under the hole so the bolt doesn't fall into the internal abyss.
Attached two quick release bike fork mounts.
Used a ratchet strap for additional stability.
Worked as anticipated.
