DIY Bike Rack (yes, another one)

The Maverick bed bike rack is the perennial DIY project. Here's my entry:

Only one piece of 2x6 pine. Using two M8 x 150mm L-Shaped Right Angle Bolts. These fit exactly into the provided hole in the bed.
I'm happy to say the engineers at Ford provided a surface under the hole so the bolt doesn't fall into the internal abyss.

Attached two quick release bike fork mounts.

Used a ratchet strap for additional stability.

Worked as anticipated.

i did something similar for my old bike, only i used the vertical slot just in front of where you mounted your 2x6. saved me from having to bolt the 2x6 down. i also used a strap across the back tire to help stabilize it. worked great!

Nice work. Just a suggestion for securing the bike. The fork mount makes it very secure up front. You only need to lash down the rear wheel not the frame.
