Displaying coolant temp, battery charging, etc...

In my view, there should be at the very least a coolant temp, battery charging and optionally an oil pressure display. Some of this, possibly all of these gauges could be displayed, they do show up in "engineering test" mode:

I am looking for how to do this, like it had been done on n F250:

Does anyone know how to do this and point me to the right direction?

I'd be highly surprised if that display accommodates temps.

I'd recommend first looking at other vehicles that may be using a similar display, like the Bronco Sport, to see if it's possible.

I'll keep searching for this option, maybe I'll stumble upon some ForeScan settings for the Maverick. I'd rather have that than mounting something on the dashboard, albeit the Scangauge looks tempting, especially it's portability.

I've been looking into there offerings and can easily fit 6 of their gauges into the cubby. I've got an email in with them this morning on their offerings and what all is entailed. If the conversation is headed in a positive direction I will CAD up a mount with bezel and such this weekend. Leaning on this direction as it would solve the age old question of what they hell can i put in my cubby

the scangauge is nice but IMO overpriced for what it does. You can get a bluetooth OBD dongle and a free phone app that does basically the same thing.

One thing you can't seem to get is something that will show you what gear the transmission is in. Anyone know of forscan does this?

Thanks for the tip, just looked at Amazon and found this that works with the Maverick, allegedly:



The app is on my phone already and waiting for ODB2 scanner to arrive, let you know if it shows transmission gear as well...

A) you gotta have the phone
B) you gotta tie up the phone

GREAT option for one time or occasional use.

ScanGaugeIII is ideal for semi-permanent / daily use. But yes with magnetic and suction cup mounting, can easily move from vehicle to vehicle.

It also is a DTC code reader, check engine light resetter, and can tell you in advance if you are going to pass an emissions "smog" test or not.

Way more labor intensive than ScanGauge
Very limited: one gauge per circuit?

You know you have to run separate wires for each, separate "senders" separate "probes" for each right? May even have to drill and tap your engine block. This is 1980's and 1990's technology but is a good option for cars and trucks older than 1996.

All these new cars have fancy screens that could display engine trouble codes, engine and transmission information, customizations to shift patterns,etc and its all wasted.

A) is there anyone nowadays, who has no phone?
B) yes, but... the Autophix app works without cell connection, at least on the surface I've seen on the installed app. It only need Bluetooth...

I'll ordered one on Amazon and will test, if phone calls can be made, or not. It doesn't really matter to me much anyway, since I don't take/make phone calls or read/send text anyway.

And yes, the Autophix is portable as well; looking forward checking out my Avalon too...

Can't disagree with most of your points. Your unit is nice and with plug and play, you can't complain. Im just not a fan of the big old monitor slapped on there look(I do realize the irony of my comment as most of the infotainment screens in cars and trucks just look like the designer slapped it on the dash). I do appreciate you sharing your Guage setup, it has given me a few other ideas.
