Discount on 2024 Mavericks - good or just okay?

Only $3500 off a two year old truck that’s been sitting on the lot? Hard pass. Something sitting that long is not a good buy, since sitting unused is the worst thing for a vehicle. Starts getting dry rot issues with hoses, seals in the engine, flat spotted tires and more.

Find the cost of a used '24 close to what you want. See what that price is. If you still want a '24 offer them that. If they say now then look at the sales person reach out your hand and say "Thanks for your time." Walk out. See if they stutter or follow you into the lot. But like icegradner said sitting is very very bad. If they throw in a 5yr 60K waranty as well as the price you offered then maybe.

You have a good idea. I'll do this if I decide to buy a 2024 Lariat Tremor, but I'm really leaning towards a 2025.
If I can get a deep discount on a 2024 then I might bite.

That’s still a lot of sitting! More than 3-5 months is not great. Unless you get a great deal, at least $5-6k off, I’d pass.

It seems crazy that a CA dealer couldn't sell hybrid Mavericks for two years. Maybe these had a stop sale on them? They have a lot of them too. Crazy.

If you can get them to go $4500 off, and/or stack some incentives with the $3500 off - it isn't too bad a price for a Lariat hybrid (without travelling out of state) due to '25& '26 price increases.

2 year old "new" truck - tell them you want a real discount and maybe you'll play ball.

NEVERMIND - those are all EBs. That's why they can't sell them in CA with our high gas prices. Need $6k or more off, to deal...

It does seem crazy to me that the dealer can't sell these 2024 Mavericks. Especially considering the they are the largest Ford dealer in the nation. I like your advice, thanks.

I'm only interested in either the 2024 Lariat Tremor, OR the 2025 Tremor.

The dealer has the 2024 Lariat Tremor for around $40k to $41k. The 2025 Tremors are priced
around $39k. It seems odd that the 2024 is priced more expensive than the 2025.
But of course with the $3500 discount the 2024 is about $2600 less than the 2025.
Not really that much of a discount, me thinks.

That dealer must be large enough to buy their own vehicles because no dealer would be insane/stupid enough to pay the floor plan on that for so long.

The fast way to find a 2025 is to go to ford.com, click on Trucks, then Maverick, then towards the bottom click the 2025 Maverick link.
Enter your zip code and how far out you want to search (miles that is ), select Tremor for your model and see what comes up. Forget the price shown. You can see the sticker and then jump to the dealer site to see what they have for discounts.

Simple answer: No that is not good. No that is not okay. With 26s out, you can get that much discount on most 25s and not have a two-year-old vehicle when you drive off the lot..

Must also remember, whether EB or hybrid, there were lots of mechanical improvements starting in MY '25. Specifically to the EB engine and the hybrid eCVT. These may not make the discount worth it to many people.
