Because, if it is different... and does something different to the settings of the truck, don't you think it would be beneficial?


I have 6 dogs.... the horn sets them off....

In reality, it's for us old folks that aren't sure we pressed it to lock the doors. The second push confirms if memory cells are working in the brain

Again with such weird questions. I don't mean to pick on you, but why is this even a question? A double tap of the fob creates a horn tone and one does not. Solution is to just push it once, or use either interior or exterior lock pads when exiting the truck and no horn tone.

OR, just lock the doors with the Ford Connect phone app.

I don't use that app, hell I don't even drive it...

Its hers, She drives it.... its so quiet when she comes home that when she locks it ..... ahhh crap....

You can lock the doors with one door open then close the door when ready, no horn, locked. Can anyone tell me why my doors lock with truck running with me out of the vehicle its happened 2x to me. Doors shouldn't lock with vehicle running, only when you put it in drive they lock.

If you go into your menu on the cluster, select settings, then vehicle, locks, then select feedback there should be an option for audible. Hope that helps.

Super late to the thread here. I had a 23 XLT Hybrid that was just totaled by insurance. It can be programmed from the infotainment system to not beep on a double tap. It did still double beep if I left something open like a door or hood. Super handy and I don't like loud noises. I have just taken possession of a 24 Lariat Hybrid and cannot find the setting.

Agreed but when you have the global window roll up setting it requires you to press once then hold on the second time. The windows go up but you get that annoying honk sound.

To all those wondering it can be turned off. You have to use forscan to do it but it can be done. I’m also on the side of just push the button once if you find the horn annoying as all doors lock on first push.

It's in the BCM settings. I believe you can also configure Global Windows to only require a single 2-sec long press, but I haven't tried it.
