This doesn't seem secure or even smart. Why have a key pad that can be broken into at any time with the code? Why even have it? Why would I use it? Stupid option!
First off, the code should be kept as secure as your keys. Second, it would only give them access to your cab, they cannot drive it.

You're saying it's not secure because someone gave away their code? Even if mistakenly? Why have locks if it can be broken into anytime with a key? Doesn't seem smart or secure. See, it's exactly the same.

People lose their keys. People will lose their code. It's life. Doesn't make keys or keypads stupid. It's just a mistake.

I have been using Ford keypads for years. They are great. Never had a problem. Never heard of anyone stealing or breaking into a car with it. But I have heard people stealing and breaking into a car with keys before though.

If you're really worried about it, there is probably a fuse you can pull for it. Just don't lose your keys ;)

Without a key it will NOT start. If your code is stolen don't leave your keys in the Maverick.

I also think you shouldn't leave the remote in the vehicle if you have push button start.

Sorry it's a great feature. The mistake is leaving the master number in your wallet or in the glove box.

You change the code to something you can remember and put the master card some place in the house.

To me this feature is far more useful than push button start.
Leave the keys lock the car push buttons get back in car. Ta Da magic.

If something really bad happens it's why I carry insurance.

Apparently there is no solution but to disconnect the wires in the door. I'm still trying to understand how I would use the combo lock. I can't lock the car with the key inside.

Your mistake just helped thousands of people like me who had no knowledge of a master code. I will know what not to do..
Thank you for saving me...

It would look a bit ridiculous since you'd effectively have two of them but I suppose you could get the stick-on remote doorpad.
