Was initially asked for a $1000 deposit, but after some hemming and hawing was then told it wasn't necessary. Let's put it this way...if I'm going out of my way to come to the dealership and order a vehicle that I'm unable to sit in and test drive, going on blind faith, I'm serious about buying a truck. Never once have I EVER put money down at a dealership.

Ordered 2, each from different dealer and neither required a deposit.

Another local dealer wanted 500.00 and then dropped to 250.00 but passed on that since I had knowledge from these forums that a deposit was not needed.

Ford's training PDF file For their salesman(which you can download)states no deposit is required,So if their asking for one I would find another dealer
