Delivery disaster!

I was supposed to pick my Maverick this afternoon. I got a text from my salesman this morning telling me that someone cut the fence at the dealer ship and the cut the catalytic converter off my Mav! This was an order that someone else abandoned that I put my name on back in July, so I haven't been waiting nearly as long as some of you, but it still sucks!

I'm not an expert, but I have read on the MTC that it is very difficult to cut the catalytic converter out from the Mav. Both hybrid and eco are difficult. I also read that there is something that looks like one that thieves take because they don't know what they are doing. Hopefully, the part is easy to get for the dealer so it doesn't take forever to resolve.

The hybrid has two cats, one up in the bottom of engine bay and one down low that is easy to get at. Most thefts have been of the lower one.

I think some of these thieves ship them overseas. A local guy was caught with over 2000 cats in his garage. Seemed like he was saving to fill a shipping container.

Be thankful it is on the dealer. I just replaced one on my accord and it was $1800.
