99% of the time I drive in ECO mode. This means every time I start the vehicle, and it defaults to NORMAL mode, I must hit the drive mode button 4 times to put it in ECO.

Does anyone know of a way to have my “default” mode be in the ECO setting?

Thanks

Yes Ira there is a way.
On 22-24 Maverick's You can attach this device Link👇and program any of the driving modes as your default mode.

The company does not have a device for a 2025 yet.

Somewhat good news is.
On a 2025 Maverick when you start the vehicle. You will be asked if you would like to return to your previous drive mode. One click of the steering wheel button and you're all set

I hope this information helps you.
Good luck

Not a big help but you can hit the left drive mode button twice to get to ECO Mode.

On the 2025's owners select their Drive modes from their steering wheel.
Also, on the 2025 a message comes up on the instrument cluster asking if they wish to return to their previous drive mode. Which requires one push of the okay button.

Sorry, I should have explained that this was on a 2025 Hybrid.
I use the mode button because I’m usually not quick enough to hit the ok button when asked if I want to resume ECO mode.

My 25 XLT does not ask me this.

Mike,
I don't know what to say, maybe it's just a hybrid thing. At least two members have verified this, both are hybrid owners.
It happens very quickly, example: It will come up "Do you want eco mode" then the the seat belt warning will pop up on top of it.
You're probably just missing it unless it's a hybrid thing only.🤷🏻‍♂️

There is a pop-up on the 25 screen that asks if you want to return to your previous used mode, but you have to be quick. It goes away in about 2 seconds. The new mode selector is on the steering wheel. 2 left presses to eco. Easier than prior years.

If it wasn’t for this horrible ‘feature’ I would give my Mav 5 Stars.
I don’t even use the trip 1, trip2, current drive features anymore. Too much work to have to go get them back on the screen every time I start the truck or take it out of park.

When people ask me about the Maverick I tell them I love it except it’s got real wonky screen technology that they need to know about if car shopping.
