I have a 2.5 month old 2025 Ford Maverick XLT hybrid, with a Ford AGM 12v battery. This evening my Ford app delivered a Deep Sleep notice.
I went to the garage and was able to start up with no problems. My OBD2 software said the 12v state of charge was at 42%, which is typical over time.
Took the truck for a half mile drive, SoC went up to 48%.

Not sure what to think about this warning... Thoughts?

Check your window sticker and tell me if it's not a "feature". I see it here. "Battery saver feature". Year 3, original lead acid and never had an issue just because Maverick uses this feature sometimes. At it's worst, slightly annoying that interior lights don't come. Maybe happens a few times a season.

Yeah, I did notice the deep sleep "feature" on the sticker... . I think for me the real question is why would I get a Deep Sleep notice if the state of charge on the battery was 42%?

The deep sleep notice is triggered when the 12v battery has 9.5v or less. I've had it happen a handful of times in 3 months. Each time the remote features were disabled, the interior and exterior lights wouldn't come on but I was able to start the vehicle. I keep a jump box in the truck just in case but I've never had to use it. Annoying because it's a new truck but I can live with it. I'm waiting for the SSM-53801 update to get all the kinks worked out before doing it. Thankfully it sounds like significant progress was made yesterday with the coding and they've been able to resolve the issue where the update wipes out the air conditioning control module. This only happened in a small amount of vehicles with the update but since it's summer in the south, I don't want to risk it yet. Congratulations on your new truck!

I park outside, and in the winter I get the deep sleep warning almost daily during the really cold weeks.

Deep sleep kicks in to try and make sure your truck WILL start, but it's supposed to be a "mode of last resort," not something that happens often.

Geez, if my 12v drops to 12.0-12.1 for the long term health I will put my noco maintainer. Never seen deep sleep OEM 12v in 2022 hybrid taking about 8-10 days to drop that low. About 34 months old. Yes it takes a lot of time on the maintainer to keep the battery healthy but I can drive 30 miles and get 12.6-12.8v 24 hours after I turn truck off.

From my testing, my 2022 goes into deep sleep when the 12v battery drops to 12.1-12.2v.

If yours is getting to 9.5v it probably needs replaced.

Put it on a battery maintainer overnight. When you remove it, if the maintainer shows fully charged and not in conditioning mode, reset the BMS software in your truck. Instructions are in the user manual.

If deep sleep keeps returning, take it to the dealer and have them check everything.

Since the 12 volt battery does not actually start your hybrid truck, it doesn't take much current to close the relays that let the HV battery start it using one of the electric motors in the eCVT. But it should not be running low, this early in your ownership.

The 9.5v level referencing deep sleep mode wasn’t from my personal experience but directly from Ford.

https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...y-does-my-ford-vehicle-enter-deep-sleep-mode/
There are many who refer to battery save mode as deep sleep which is what turns some lights off, etc... deep sleep occurs at a lower voltage (9.5??) and is where the truck will not start without using jump posts. If you get a message that deep sleep is going to happen then put a multistage maintainer on the jump posts probably for a month or six weeks removing of course while you are driving. Double lock truck at least at night to minimize battery draws and run the battery learn procedure which takes up to 8 hours.

I hear you but I'm going by ford's verbiage. Ford considers deep sleep when remote features are disabled according to the notices I receive. Thankfully each time I've gotten this notice I was able to still start my truck. Great advice on the maintainer and double tapping the lock button, I do that every time I lock my truck!

Can you point me to where it talks about making progress yesterday with the coding for the new update? I must have missed that and thanks.

I have a 2024 Lariat hybrid. We were just away for two weeks and I got the notice too. Got back, no problem. However, I am considering buying a jump pack. Probably should?

I did and got one with an air compressor too. This Dewalt fits perfectly under the rear seat. Thankfully I haven't had to use it other than blowing up my lawn mower tires.
