I noticed the other day my local dealership, Wickstrom Ford in Barrington IL, has 4 '24 Mavericks on the lot. When did dealership Mav inventories begin to appear?

They are likely full of mark up options that dealerships order to get the price of lower tier models up into the next level. More profit. They also know how to order the least constrained items too, so that could be another thing. Whatever gets them more money and more Mavericks to sell, they are going to do it.

Looking at their website, all of the Mavericks have "please call" for pricing. Did you actually look to see if they have ADM stickers on them?

I agree with Montana. Despite all the recalls and hiccups, the Maverick has hit a nitch market that is not going away anytime soon. Dealers all over america are stocking their inventory with whatever they can as fast as they can.

If you look at the sales history of the previous generation Ranger, you'll see the Maverick is nothing special. That old Ranger sold 300,000 plus many years. The only thing that makes the Maverick "special" is that Ford badly miscalculated demand and underinvested in initial production. Given that the order book never closed for the current model year, it's pretty reasonable to say that production is slowly catching up with demand (at least Ecoboost).

Is the Maverick popular with a certain cost-sensitive crowd (that would be you and me)? Sure. But so far it hasn't even dethroned the old Ranger. Count me in the dubious crowd that it ever will. I wager 150,000 a year will be tops for the Maverick. Partly because Ford doesn't want to invest in a new plant. Partly because the initial demand will falter. And eventually because competitors will start nibbling away at that sales pie (success breeds competition).

It's also not a big money maker for them, so it may not make sense for Ford to expand production capacity for this vehicle.

So order banks are still open? I wonder how long the wait is now. I waited 18 months for an eco.

They aren't the unicorns they once were, I see them everywhere now.

If you can believe the dealer I ordered from, about 4-5 months.

That's dealer code for "4-18 months".

Not as bad now but there are models that are still constrained.

You're not wrong at all, Luckily there is the one guy sharing the constraints to give me an idea of how long I've got to plan out mods.

Good afternoon, I work at a ford dealership. Have a maverick myself and love it. I currently have unclaimed Maverick Lariat Tremor. Let me know if you know anyone interested. 217-762-2521 and ask for Kevin

My small town dealer who never had any new ones on his lot earlier, has had two dealer stock EB's ( Lariat AWD and a Tremor). They still have the Tremor, the ADM on the window was $995 for both. It's probably been six weeks now, the Lariat has been gone about 2 weeks and who knows if they got the ADM? I doubt it.

Sitting at same dealership this morning, Wickstrom in Barrington IL. They have 20 Mavericks on the lot. Obviously that supply/demand thing has changed. Interestingly, only 1 is hybrid.
