The other day I emailed the dealership I ordered my Maverick from on January 25, 2022. I asked to see the price protected apr's from when I placed the order.

I referenced the below video.

The general sales manager got back to me today saying they cannot see the price protection until the truck arrives. Has anyone else had a dealership say this? His exact words were, "Not until the truck arrives, then I can look up protected date."

My truck is currently in production so I am hoping it'll be here by the end of 2022.

This seems weird. It's not like the rates are wheels on a slot machine that don't reveal themselves until you pull the handle. The dealer should know which rates were available at different times throughout the year. I think he's just hoping by not telling you the rates now, you'll forget to ask when your truck arrives and they can go with a higher rate.

Ford didn't change the rates until early February so it's the same 2021 summer rates.

i think dealers f-ck with consumers because they can, and they could sell it with a markup if you don’t follow through with the purchase.

for my purchase they price protected the model price but would not price protect for the options. i feel like i was fleeced for about $1.4k

edited portion: i didn’t even consider rates might be protected, it’s doesn’t say rate protection, it’s price protection.

my dealer checked in with their local ford rep (next level up maybe?) and confirmed that I had both price and credit terms lock months before my truck actually got to the dealer. all they referenced was both the VIN and the order number. sounds like they just didn't want to take the time to look shit up.

Not true. As long as the vehicle has been invoiced and is active in smart vincent, you can easily look up protected incentives.
If you just have a VIN, but the vehicle has not been invoiced yet (invoicing takes place a week or two before the build date), there is no easy way that I know of to look up protected incentives.
But it sounds like yours is far enough along that your dealer should be able to to that. It takes like 30 seconds to do.

Can any dealer look up the information if I give them the order number and my VIN?

I purchased my Ford Maverick on 18 October. I did receive the 1.9% intrest just to hold my money in my savings account. My dealership did not apply the price protection as per smart vincent because Ford Motor Company rarely if ever reimburses the dealership the difference.

Price protection is not in smart Vincent. Only rate protection. My dealer told me they will send the protected price difference when they get it from Ford. I know others on this forum have received that check.

Your dealership is straight-up lying to you. If they are not getting the rebates, it means they screwed something up on their end and trying to cover it up, or are taking the check as a "bonus" for themselves. Most likely they just don't like waiting (6 weeks or so?) for Ford to send them the check so easier and more cost effective to just lie to the customer. You were screwed.

Update: I emailed another dealership to see if they can access the information. Unfortunately they cannot. Only the dealership I ordered the truck from can see it.
