I was the very first to place an order on my local dealership for my 2024 Maverick XL.
Knowing there WILL be dealer allocations for stock does that give me hope that I might not wait a year for my truck?

Retail orders take precedence over stock orders if your order doesn't have constraints (like XL). Priority code for retail is 3 - 19, stock 20 - 80. Just because you were the first to order at your dealership doesn't mean yours will be first built.

Yup...my dealer told me straight up they have 23 roll overs first so it might be a long time. I said I've read enough on MTC I ain't going to bother you. Once I know it hits the dealership I might want to peak at it. Until then I'm just racking up miles on my daughters first truck :ROFLMAO:

Each dealer gets allocations.... it matters how many orders your dealer submits vs how much allocation Ford has given them. And it matters when Ford gives them the allocation. (Allocation will be spread out over a 13 month period).

Did your dealer have unscheduled 23s that were recorded as 24s? Ford will be prioritizing those? If 60% of your dealers 24 order are 23 rollovers, then you'll be waiting longer than if your dealership had no rollovers.

XLs may still be "overordered" / constrained in 24.
When Ford looks at a dealer's order banks, retail orders are prioritized, but if constraints mean that all retails are unschedulable, then stocks orders may be scheduled instead.

So there are too many unknowns at this stage to guess!

The most important factors are how many allocations your dealer has, how many orders submitted, how many prioritized rollovers they will have, and then the % of their orders that are XL.

The order in which you placed an order doesn't really mean anything. I ordered my 2022 in January of 2022 just before the order banks closed and I had it in just over 4 months. Even my dealer couldn't believe it since I ordered an XL and he had other Ecoboost orders that had been waiting much longer. It's all about constraints and what Ford randomly has available to build in addition to allocation. Just don't want you to assume that it's first in first out with Ford. Jim Farley made some claim that Ford would do first in first out but this forum has proven that claim to be nothing but PR BS.

There is seemingly no rhyme or reason to allocation and what gets built. If you did your due diligence in placing an order with a reputable dealer that claims to have allocation I would just set it and forget it instead of driving yourself crazy like some members here seem to do.

Another aspect is when the dealer gets their allocations. My dealership appears to have gotten all of theirs for MY23 within the last two months.

Oh I knew going in it could be a long wait. I'm actually in no rush. Even a year gives me an extra few months to sock away more money! Thanks for your input.

I surely figure as much. Just curious really. Thankfully I'm in a position to wait I knew this going in from all the helpful comments on this site.
