my perspective, the Maverick is transportation, the dealer has you emotionally and financially involved. Your decision to be extorted by additional fees, or walk, is yours-no one else. the only action you can take is to post on the Mav site and on Google, be sure to post facts. You can file a complaint with the FTC-Federal Trade Commission and with your State Consumer Protection Agency - neither will save this deal at the MSRP price. You are just delaying Christmas if you walk, you can reorder at a different dealer when orders reopen later this year; who knows a 23 may be a better Maverick. you will be informed enough by this experience to get a signed agreement when you proceed. The other question is do you expect service from this dealer? after this experience.

Big part of me thinks some of the shady dealers are putting these things on hoping that you were going to argue with them and give up to either A) Pay for it or B) Not buy the truck in which case the market up for an insane profit
No need to think, they legit told me with a straight face that every salesman in the dealership was hoping I walked away so that they can make a buck of the markup.

Asking for info from dealers and sales reps, please. How do I reconcile in my head these two boxes on my "Vehicle Purchase Order" ?

One box says, "Dealer Added Equipment" and none or N/A. Another box labeled "Aftermarket Products" shows I'm paying $1694 ( $1299 0f which is shown, on other pages, to be for "Lojack") How does Dealer Added and AfterMarket differ?

The "after market" amount was also described as part of the dealer prep and inspection charge. Verbally, the salesman told me there weren't going to be any "add-ons" or extra fees. (This in mid-February) At the delivery (early March) the sales MANAGER insisted that he held the "MSO" title and could sell the vehicle built to my order to anybody he wanted -- and that his Dealer Prep fees "PDI" (including addition of LoJack tech and subscription fees) were not optional. If I wanted "my" vehicle, I paid his price.

I like my new truck. I'll be shopping around for a different dealership to do any services.

Ditto. The salesmanager was quite explicit with us about the advantages to his company of seeing us walk away from "our" truck.

thank goodness , they did not ad any to my f-150, my maverick sales order shows none either Mullinax ford, I think they (have many stores) no extra fees. was just tax-tags etc. hope to get the maverick someday ordered 10/21 with the vehicle shortages on most all models I see they do sell most now at msrp, not really any discounts like before,.
not like our toyota dealer in our town. looked at a new 22 tundra has $2995 little extras BS and then $19995 ADM then they have about $1,200 in paperwork. then is only about $76,000 plus tax and tags!!
