Hi all, new to the forum, but a MAV owner for 9 months. LOVE my Maverick so I hope this issue can be resolved. I have read most of the threads on the battery issue, so wanted to share my experience and will update as I know more.
8/29 running errands, shut off truck, got out and it failed to lock properly, so I thought I may have just forgot to turn it off which I've done. It was completely dead, no functionality at all. AAA came, jumped the battery and I drove home knowing it needed a morning jump to get to dealer which was closing and I didn't want to leave unattended in the lot.
8/30 AAA comes to jump battery and dropped at local dealer
8/31 Dealer calls and says it was simple, just a plug was loose, all good. I went and picked it up, drove to Target again, and same thing happened. (Maybe it was Target! lol). AAA comes again, now I've learned a lot, and had to show HIM how to jump the truck. Took it to dealer. No loaners.
9/1 Truck started auto start at dealer and i drove it 51 miles out of town to the dealership where it was purchased for further evaluation. Got loaner.
Stay tuned for updates. I sure hope Ford resolves this issue. I am gun shy now because I spend time in the mountains. If there is no cell service and I have an inactive truck, BIG problem.
I think with so many having this issue, this needs to be addressed by @Ford
UPDATE 9/7: Picking up Mav tomorrow, seems to have been a software glitch. Software now has been updated. Hope this is helpful for anyone else with a similar issue.
