A lot cheaper to replace the individual switchbacks than it is for the LED headlight assembly.I turned them off in Forscan when I got the Lasfit switchbacks to do the DRL job. Far cheaper and look great, too.
I’m referring specifically to the LEDs; there’s still marker lights and your indicators etc. it’s not really in line with your comparisons[continuing logic]
Disconnect your airbags and seatbelts too.
I’m fine with the taillights and the front signals being constantly illuminated, I just don’t think it’s necessary to run those expensive LEDs in the daylightI turn my parking lights on I like tail lights illuminated.
It's pretty straightforward using Forscan. I will see if I can find the thread with the directions I used, too.A lot cheaper to replace the individual switchbacks than it is for the LED headlight assembly.
$50 Switchbacks vs $1000+ Led assembly.
Good workthank you
I have switchbacks.
If you would not mind.
I may pm you to find out a little more about what is involved with having the Switchbacks as daytime driving lights.
Take care.
Always looking for common sense Solutions.

Ditto on the switchbacks. On for safety but change in Forscan to parking/turn signals with switchbacks for white DRLs.
Given that they have a 70-year design life and consume almost no power, why does keeping them on worry you?I’m fine with the taillights and the front signals being constantly illuminated, I just don’t think it’s necessary to run those expensive LEDs in the daylight
Let me know when your headlights make the 70 year markGiven that they have a 70-year design life and consume almost no power, why does keeping them on worry you?
I replaced one headlight in my 87 Ranger in its 744,000km life, and that was a halogen bulb light that was on low-beam for about 1/3 of that vehicle's life. Those halogen bulbs are only rated for about 1,000 hours, or 1/360th of the life of the LED headlights. So yes, I fully expect them to last for a lifetime and more.Let me know when your headlights make the 70 year mark![]()
All the best to you.I replaced one headlight in my 87 Ranger in its 744,000km life, and that was a halogen bulb light that was on low-beam for about 1/3 of that vehicle's life. the price of our headlights are astronomical I vote off for sure
Yep I agree. While the LEDs themselves have a lifespan that may be considered as “enough"; they will likely outlive the car itself if the circuit and its associated cooling is designed properly — we are talking 10s of thousands of hours of operational life here, at least for the automotive grade ones.I’m fine with the taillights and the front signals being constantly illuminated, I just don’t think it’s necessary to run those expensive LEDs in the daylight
To that end I guess I will be buying and learning Forscan.Ditto on the switchbacks.
