Only thing tire size will do is throw off your speedometer/odometer, and potentially make the truck work a bit harder if the size is bigger.

Nowadays cars have a ton of computers in them, and it's amazing how much a bad battery or low voltage can screw with everything.

"So, Mr. Ford Technician, you're saying it's the 1/2" taller tires and aftermarket wheels that are causing this!" Per the Service Depts advise, I swapped the stockers back on, with photo documentation. We took it out to dinner on Friday, 100-mile round trip, then weekly grocery shopping on Saturday. About 35 miles into Saturday's trip, and right before we got to the store, the dash lit up again, and this time I was able to feel what my Wife was trying to describe as far as drivability. It felt (from the Drinker's seat) like the rear diff was locking and unlocking while driving. When we were done shopping, I was driving. From the Captain's chair, it felt like the left front ABS was cycling on and off at parking lot speed; once on the road, it drove fairly normally. Phone message left with the Service Dept, along with photo and video evidence on my phone. I plugged my El Cheapo scan tool in this morning, but us unable to read any code; I think my reader will only read OBD2 codes, not BCM (probably). I also checked the battery voltage again, over 14V when running this morning, so it has to be a sensor of some sort.

The past three days, the Mrs. has gotten into the Maverick and at startup, the dash was lit up with the following messages and more:
Pre-Collision Assist Not Available
Service AdvanceTrac
Hill Start Assist Not Available
Lightning Bolt Dead Head symbol (battery?)
Two Wheel Peel symbol (traction control?)
None of the Drive Modes work
Steering feels wonky
She was near our dealership, so she stopped-in, but naturally, they wanted to blame to 245-65-17 tires. They cleared the codes and suggested going back to the stock tires.
I'm going to swap back to the stock 235-65s and see if it comes back. I'm not willing to accept that a slightly (1/2") taller tire is going to cause this, especially with all of the Mavs running around with this size (and taller)
Any ideas?
Thanks
Definitely not the tires. I’m on 265’s and heavy. I haul a lot and off road mine a lot.

Dropped off today. Technician actually did his job and did some troubleshooting. As expected, it has a bad wheel speed sensor. Of course, after getting the pop ups on startup, all of the dash lights disappeared 5 minutes into the 30-minute drive to the dealership. Part has been ordered.

Wheel speed sensor installed today, still not fixed. I have a bad feeling it might be something in the transmission/transaxle--at 4500 miles!!!

It's going to be cutting it kinda close for Carlisle/MTC Roundup if they don't figure it out pretty soon.

What was the code the tech. found? I had a C0512 (right rear speed sensor open), and associated ABS, PSCM, and IPMA module codes. Same symptoms you described. Bad wheel speed sensor harness, had a corrupt wire or connection on the sensor signal side. Changed the harness about an hour ago, resolved fault.

My guess is you have the same issue.

Cheers.

They didn't give me the code, but they swapped the speed sensor and it did not fix the issue.

They picked it up again today. I told them to keep it all week, but that it had better be 100% fixed by Friday. On the Plus side, they gave us a '25 F150 SuperCrew STX 4x4 with the 2.7 EcoBoost-scoots pretty well for such a big truck, way too big for me.

Fingers crossed they get it sorted soon. Please keep us posted on the resolution.

Cheers.
