At least you got to test drive a Maverick. I had to go on blind faith and break my own rule of "never buy a first year model." Have had ZERO regrets buying my Maverick XL EB. We'll see where things stand five years from now.

I would be hesitant to buy 1st year models also but don't consider my 2022 Maverick a first year as all the components with the exception of body style have been on the market (platform, drivetrain).

A Ford mechanic told me it's essentially a Ford Fusion. Not sure how I feel about that, but hey, it's a choice I have to deal with for at least the next five years.

Honestly never paid attention to Ford cars/SUVs. Then the Maverick came along and turned me into a first time Ford owner. Hell has officially frozen over.

We have never bought a new Ford Product. Father was a GM Guy & my Wife's father was a Chrysler Retired Executive so definitely not a Ford Family. Didn't want or need a Pick-up Truck. Fell in love with the concept of the Maverick Hybrid. Couldn't find any locally & almost bought a First Edition off eBay for bout $5k over List & would have to fly in & drive back 16+ hours home. Decided to be sure we would like the Hybrid Drive line so found a 2022 Escape Hybrid (also hard to find) & bought it bout 6 hours from our home. Didn't want to drive 12 hours round trip so the Dealership was good enough to offer to buy both of our trade ins & deliver the Escape to us & pick-up our trade ins. After 4 months & 4,000 miles on the Escape we found another 1st Edition at Dealership on Facebook. They offered us within $500 of list price of Escape trade & discounted asking price on the Maverick. Yes we paid a little over list for the Maverick but moderate amount compared to what we see out there now. Extremely pleased with entire purchasing on Both Ford Products & really crazy about the Maverick. Both Dealerships were Mullinax, one in Mobile Alabama & other in Kissimmee Florida with no extra Dealer Fees which is very unusual in Florida. T

nope. it's the market conditions. no supply of new vehicles, high demand for fuel-efficient models, high prices.

LOL....market condition only apply when Carmax sells you a car. When they buy a car somehow it looks all doom and gloom on the horizon
