Too many jokes!Nice
A few years ago, I saw a Tacoma in bright pink with all the badging removed and little taco decals all over it, dripping salsa. The tacos looked so delicious that I figured it had to be a pilot vehicle for a food truck of the same name. Or maybe something to do with the porn industry …
I fixed that for you. Though the hybrid has a Mazda-developed engine block, their relationship with Ford ended in 2015.Just my $.02 but I like it! Pays homage to the Ford/Mazda relationship thathas beenwas around for decades.
You could call your Maverick the B2500H due to the 2.5L engine and Hybrid drivetrain![]()
I stand corrected! Thought they still had a small stake in the company. But indeed, it was a pretty long relationship.I fixed that for you. Though the hybrid has a Mazda-developed engine block, their relationship with Ford ended in 2015.
Yeah, if it had an M5R1 transmission, it was a Mazda but pretty much everything else was Ford.I stand corrected! Thought they still had a small stake in the company. But indeed, it was a pretty long relationship.
IIRC correctly, the 5-speed on my 1996 Ranger was a Mazda transmission. I think I remember seeing their emblem casted on the side of it.
Yup! Had the 2.3L Lima engine. Dual spark plugs actually. Only had a whopping 95 HP lol. But yes, that's the transmission, M5R1. Man than truck was a dog but kept me from getting tickets lol.Yeah, if it had an M5R1 transmission, it was a Mazda but pretty much everything else was Ford.
I've owned a few vehicles related to that joint venture: 1993 & 1994 Ford Probe GTs (same chassis, powertrain & suspension as Mazda MX-6, different bodywork). I still own a 2012 Ford Focus which is all Ford except the 2.0 Duratec which is a Mazda MZR with Ford Ti-VCT. The Ecoboost Maverick is part of that same bloodline, but the engine is 3-4 generations away from the MZR roots.
Yeah, I had a turbocharged Lima in a 1983 Thunderbird TurboCoupe at the same time my girlfriend (now wife) had the base Lima in a 1988 Ranger. Both 5-speeds. They were nothing alike, as you can imagine. Weight played as big a role as the turbo in the difference.Yup! Had the 2.3L Lima engine. Dual spark plugs actually. Only had a whopping 95 HP lol. And nice!! It's pretty cool to track the lineage of these vehicles and powertrains.
