Why are there so many cranky people? I have belonged to several automotive forums and I regularly come across posts from what seems to be old crotchety posters. Catch can: "fool and his money, i've never needed one blah blah." Delays due to parts shortages: "my dealer is lying when they say there are delays! they just want me to purchase a bigger more expensive vehicle!" Someone else griping that his owners manual isn't 100% exact to his vehicle. (how they list all options "If Equipped") Are there a bunch of angry old people shaking their fist in here?
By the way, there is an ignore option under every avatar on here. (That’s the little picture thingy we have each chosen to use to identify ourselves.). Feel free to put it to anyone you don’t want to hear complaining.

I just did!

It’s not just “old” people complaining. I’ve been on this forum for many months before the Maverick was introduced, and I’ve seen complaints from ALL age groups.
I agree, the OPs statement that its "old" folks complaining isn't correct. There's complainers in all age groups on this forum.

I think the crankiness of some posters (all ages) is a reflection of what we're ALL currently living through (ie 2 year pandemic, supply chain issues, some lost jobs, higher inflation, social unrest, etc etc). Now you finally get excited (ie happy) about getting a new vehicle...and it gets delayed or their dealer plays pricing games. Its a recipe for outbursts.

Me, I ordered a Hybrid so I probably won't see it until late Spring or Summer. Just going to ignore the complainers here and try to learn more (and share when I can).

If people have the right to place multiple orders and dealers have the right to charge ridiculous ADM's and Ford has the right to schedule builds that were ordered MONTHS after mine then I have the right to bitch whine and complain about it.

I know. Why can't they just let it go like you do. Oh wait... Oh, now that's some good old fashioned irony right there.

Kind of a two negatives make a positive thing.

If one bitches in a post about his dislike for bitching does that mean the original post wasn't a bitch?

We've seen lots of comments on this forum about how young people ("kids these days...") are spoiled by Amazon and can't wait for anything. This is just the other side of that -- someone complaining about the old people.

In both cases, I think the writers are just falling for the temptation of blaming someone who doesn't look like them. "My kind of people aren't the problem. It's your kind of people who are the problem."

There are lots of young folks that get angry about stuff. Just a reminder, words have meaning.

I completely get waiting for something that you ordered for sucks. I knew I was going to have wait but didn't think it would be this long. My order was confirmed on 10/2 and still no build date. I figure at least another 2-3 months of waiting to go. I decided to look at the brighter side. I knew the Maverick hybrid was way under valued at 20k. Most vehicles you pay a premium for a hybrid model. There is no other current truck model at can come close to get 40mpg and starts at 20k. We all saw they value in it which is way we placed orders and joined the forum. We just didn't anticipate such a long wait.
