What's the lowest it can be on the priority?
Retail orders are 10-19, with 10 being best, but it only applies to that model at that dealer. If your dealer puts all orders in at 19, it's the same as if they put them all in at 10.

Probably MOST people did that. Not everyone hangs out on forums or Facebook. And usually the process works. We just hear about the bad experiences because few people post that everything went well. :)
Yeah but given that we probably have to wait almost a year for our precious trucks, best not take any chances and do everything to protect yourself from unscrupulous actions from sketchy dealers.

How important is the COVP process? I placed an order with a dealer today and he took a copy of my driver's license as well as a $500 deposit, and said the order was placed. About 20 minutes later, I received the confirmation email from Ford stating that my order was confirmed. I asked for a signed buyers order and he said he couldn't give me one because there is no vin number yet for the vehicle. He also didn't mention anything about the COVP process when I asked. He said they placed about 100 maverick orders today, so they are a high volume dealership and the reviews are very good for this particular dealer. Should I be concerned, or do you think my order is legit since I received the Ford Confirmation email? How would I go about doing the COVP process if the dealer isn't familiar with it? Or is it necessary?
I don't understand your concern. If you received a confirmation from Ford, your order has been received by Ford. The problem occurs when you don't receive a confirmation from Ford.

COVP is Fords way of verifying you are a real customer and that dealer didn't just make up a name to complete an order. The dealer needs to send a copy of your driver's license that matches the name on the order. Until that is complete and approved your order will sit in purgatory and never be scheduled.
Apparently Ford is no longer requiring COVP, but is only "recommending" it.

I think you're all set!
I believe seeing "COMFIRMED" in the Ford email means your is awaiting scheduling!

I believe seeing "RECIEVED" in the Ford email means the order has not yet been completed with the COVP information.

If anyone can confirm or deny, please jump in!

I had the same question and forgot to ask at the dealership. All I got was a "Preview Order" sheet that we both signed.

Maybe @fordvideoguy can answer that. I plan on going back to the dealer Monday or Tuesday and asking for a copy of the COVP. I guess....... Maybe I need to go back and watch Tim's video on that again. Someplace I remember seeing you should get a copy of the DORA as well. Whatever a DORA is.................
This is a DORA sheet shown in an older thread! This is what I will be asking for Monday morning!

After the sales manager entered my order and gave me a copy of the order he said he had to enter all of the same info again so I assume that was the COVP. He shooed me off to drive a Bronco and then tried to sell me that also. I got my confirmation email from Ford about 15 minutes later.

Not necessarily!
It is just my deduction that Ford.com doesn't send out two emails with different meanings to the same group of customers. I don't believe the same order can be "recieved" and "confirmed" at the same time!
I can see a "reserved" order being later changed to "confirmed", when Ford gets the COVP information.
I was hoping someone would correct me, if this is incorrect.

If they took your license then they should have done that, the point of scanning your license is to submit to Ford and attach it to your order so Ford knows that vehicle is requested by that dealer for a real customer and not just dealer stock. At least that’s my understanding so you should be good!
I wonder the same as the OP. In my instance, they have my drivers license and I provided them the configuration. But I haven't received anything other than a build sheet. They aren't having me sign that either. I have yet to get a confirmation email from Ford. I have nothing to prove they actually submitted the order. How do I know that I actually have an order?

Taking all of the information they need to COVP your order, doesn't prove they sent Ford that information!
I plan to ask to see the DORA sheet Monday morning! I think that will answer the question.
