Console Slot - What does it do?

Just got my Mav last month and still going through manual, but I can't find anything on what this slot does.

Is it to hold one credit card? That just doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I'm not going to stick something in there until I know what it does. (that's what she said)

Slot is for the ejection seat. Insert the special card that your dealer gave you (might be in the owners manual kit) and watch out. Your roof will detach first (usually but I hear there's a recall on that - so only eject in extreme emergencies). Happy Holidays

It doesn't " do" anything, it just lays there lol

It made life so much easier when I was using a parking garage. Best place in the world to keep a parking pass. They really should advertise this feature!

It was talked about in the Press coverage, when the Maverick first made its debut, along with the two bottle openers on the tailgate.

I've found it to be super helpful for gated parking lots/garages where I have a key card or a paper ticket that needs to be ready to access to scan in and out. I've used it for hotels while traveling and in the parking garages downtown where I live.

I also use it for holding my credit card while in a fast food drive thru, usually as in-between while I am getting my food after paying. Once food is received and secured, the card goes back into my wallet where it belongs.

It's there to hold a credit card. I use it when I shop at BJ's, or Costco. First I shop in the warehouse, then go to the gas pumps for my discount on gas.

Bought the Mabett mod for the console for small items and change. Look at the slot to repurpose unused space.

I bought the Mabett mod for the console to add drink holders. Look at the repurposed unused space, a slot.

Not sure if the drink holders can hold up taller cups or cups when full. Depth is on 2/3rds of the OEM. Prob hold shorter canned drinks fine.

I guess this slot will be missed on the '25 hybrid AWD. What buttons will replace it?

They hybrid will have the slot most of the buttons got moved to where the AC controls were on the 24s.

Def your 16oz container fits.

I went all in. So the Mabett mod passes the test for me. Fits what we would normally stock on a drive. However, wider and taller 25 and 40oz containers def don't pass. Esp that tell is a no no open container while driving.
