Ok, I’ll be blaming youse guys if a problem develops!

Reading this thread reminded me I hadn’t connected my truck to my home WiFi network (PW too obscure to remember).

So I just did, and (possibly ignorantly) then selected check for updates. Something is now downloading.

Everything WAS working just fine! Can’t wait to see after! 🤔😂
My Mav always seems to be downloading something, once in a while it will say "Congratulations you're using the latest version", but it's still downloading stuff, so am I really using the latest version.

For sure, I know why companies do it, but from a buyers prescriptive there is no point in paying the extra $50 for the one with WIFI. 😉
Some buyers can sleep better at night knowing that they have supported the electric grid by giving the grid the right to limit his electric consumption if something is on the "DO NOT AIR FRY" list!

Keep us posted!
I haven't ever connected my WiFi. (24 XLT hybrid, bough 1/24) I'm neither a luddite nor overly paranoid, but it never seemed necessary and made me just slightly nervous enough that I haven't bothered.
Maybe I should?

How do you get WiFi? There's been discussion on other threads that after 2022 they didn't come with WiFi - chip shortage. My 2024 Lariat Hybrid doesn't have it. And nothing about a deduction on the sticker. How and why?

Paranoid???
I just checked for available devices and saw what appears to be my pacemaker?
What if I accidentally paired it and next software recall turns it off? I'm told it does it's thing 44% of time and has 11 years left on battery life. Will Medicare pay for new battery in 2036?

I guess if you go into Settings and you have a WiFi settings box, you probably have WiFi.

Two different things, I believe. What you read was about the truck acting as a hot spot.

This is about a connection from the truck to a router, for updates.

Your ‘24 Lariat hybrid, like mine should have WiFi configuration in the settings option.

The people who got the deduction $20 were the ones who had been charged for one. The 2024 models did not have one included in pricing. You can get one that plugs into power. You can use your cell phone or buy a data plan for your plugin. Some are using Motorola ma1. I'm going to check my t- mobile and see what is best plan.

They probably think it sells better. I hooked it up to my Wi-Fi just for fun - and yes, it's as useless as you think. 😆
Actually- hackers have shown some of these things are connecting to severs back in China

And being plugged into your home circuit provided your air fryer an internet connection to your smart electric meter and beyond!

Just in case this helps someone, my Maverick would not connect to my ASUS router using WPA2.

I could create a Guest Network and it would work fine with that, but for updates I wanted it connected to my network all the time.

In the Wireless settings, change the Wireless Mode to Legacy. It should work now.

Don't understand, I can get cheap Chinese stuff that has no problem connecting, but my expensive Ford truck has no clue.
Utron, I had a similiar struggle with connecting my truck to our WIFI network. My solution was different, but whatever works. (y) Mine connects now without issue.
