There may not be anyone who has used both devices and tunes on the Maverick, but there could be some folks in this forum who have familiarity with both of them in general. There's also some folks using SCT tunes, they were probably the first reflash supported on the '22. Plus all the people using JB4 or Racechip interceptor devices.

Well it’s two completely different setups. If your are talking OTC tunes Livernois is by far and away better.
So the way that it’s explained from a very well respected tuner that uses Cobb is livernois has much better software. That allows them to make changes to many more areas of the run profile. That way you are not relying on the ecu to make corrections as much hence why you gain very little in terms of hp with a dyno tune over the box tune from Livernois. Now getting a custom tune from a tuner such as tunewerks with a Cobb is great. Really not a big difference in the two. Basically Cobb takes a bit more fine tuning and work on your end to end up being a good tune.

Yes I have not used both on my maverick but have used them both at one point. I currently use all Livernois stuff as I’ve had such great long term reliability with them. Zero issues with over 1 million miles of tuning from them over 3 vehicles.
So obviously I prefer lms.
2015 f-150 3.5 over 400k tuned miles until totaled Ran great when hit.
2017 2.0 edge tuned on e30 for over 230k miles zero issue.
2016 focus rs at 528whp first to be true flex fuel.
22 gt 500 on e85 making 1048whp.
23 f-150 3.5 making just shy of 600whp on e85.
24 maverick tuning e30.
I’ve had zero issues on any of these.
So mine has been kind of an earned trust in them and they have given me no reason to go elsewhere.

On my prior Japanese vehicle, the C.A.P. was a convenient way to install a tune and monitor said vehicle. Being that it worked on seven model years, there was zero updating or anything beyond it being ready right out of the box. Plug it in and you are ready to go in a very short time. The before and after was noticeable but nothing major, if you will.

This time around though, I went with Livernois as everyone I have spoken with who uses this tuning on an Ecoboost seems quite pleased and admits the end results are very noticeable. I'm positive I will not be disappointed when I finally do the deed.

I wanted to run E30 that is locally (regionally) available real cheap as a blend of E85 and E10 87 octane. It's typically $0.85 to $1.05 cheaper per gallon than E10 91 octane, and I think you don't take nearly as severe of a fuel economy hit as you would with E85.

So, once I decided that, I started checking to see if anyone had such a map already built. No, they do not.. so then, who should I partner with to build a custom map? I picked a Cobb Tuning protuner, but I think it could have been done with Livernois or SCT for sure. Possibly JB4 as well but that would way more different than comparing any of the reflash devices.

I sell Livernois tuners and ran my best time to date with it. I also have a Cobb though the tune isn’t ironed out yet so I can’t compare apples to apples yet.

Still, I can give my unbiasd opinion with limited info.

Starting with the actual device itself, Livernois is a touch screen display whereas the Cobb has buttons. The Liv displays info in rows which you scroll up or down for info like Pids. Cobb shows engine info in separate squares on the screen and is generally more customizable in that regard. Cobb also shows minimum and max under the parameter. They both allow you to read and erase codes and both datalog.

Tune wise the Liv comes blank but you get 2 tunes with the purchase of tuner and can buy additional ones fairly inexpensive. Cobb comes with preloaded tunes but one would generally buy a custom tune based on your setup. There are hundreds if not thousands of tuners that can build you a Cobb tune. A Livernois tuner can only be tuned by Livernois. It might have changed by now but I believe and could be wrong but only Cobb has transmission tuning.

The biggest difference or advantage if you will, is the Livernois multitune which is an additional charge but allows you to switch tunes on the fly with the cruise control button. You can be driving on the freeway with your mild tune and change to your “race” tune while driving using the cruise buttons. No need to park and wait 15-20 minutes to reflash the tuner. In addition, It offers launch control which lets you build boost up to 10-12 psi at the line..

If you ever decide to sell the Cobb, un marry it and sell it. The Livernois tuner needs to be reprogrammed for the new owner for an additional fee.

Both have their advantages and comes down to personal preference.

Are you sure in the transmission tuning? I’m pretty sure my transmission has been adjusted. Edited I reread and noticed you put that in that it may have changed and I believe it has.

Cobb was the first to tune the Maverick TCM but I think most are doing it now including Livernois, 5 Star etc. Livernois was the first to offer launch control on the Maverick. I don't know if they still have an upcharge for launch control, but last year I remember seeing a separate cost listed for it.
