I have that clicking as well. It's coming from where the defogger vent black plastic and the blue dash plastic meet on the drivers side only. Seems to be from the defogger slot and back towards the instrument cluster. If driving on a rough road and it does that and you slightly lift the blue plastic at the defogger it stops. I was thinking of making an angled tool and shoving a strip of black felt in between both pieces to dampen this a bit. It almost sounds like something is loose. I initially thought maybe a loose steering column. But that's not it. I zeroed in on the blue dash plastic in this spot.

Most of my roads out here in west Texas suck pretty bad. From close to day 1 it also developed a buzzing noise from both A pillars at where the speaker grilles meet the A pillars if I'm driving on these crap roads which are little more than tar with pea gravel stuck in it and are everywhere, it's a constant dull buzzing. If I push at the plastics at this point the buzzing stops. I removed the 2 speaker grilles today after work before I drove home and the buzzing stopped. Yaaay score one for me and my sanity.

Dont get me wrong I love this truck. I just want it to be better. My 94 silverado I bought new was way worse with the snap crackle and pop interior. I went around and made it much better too.

However I am curious as to who thought it was a good idea to have a slot and tab arrangement to tie the A pillar plastics to the speaker grille covers. I may trim a little of the slot back so it doesnt fit so tight, and add some black felt to cushion these pieces. If the covers will fit in place nicely without the A pillar tab, I may just cut the slot completely off the speaker grilles and toss those slot pieces in the trash, then add a thin cushion of felt where they touch the A pillar.

People want to remove and swap out their dash speaker for better ones would have a much easier time if they could just pop the covers off without having to take the A pillars off. Maybe this is something Ford would look at changing in the design. It really doesnt look like that is necessary, and indeed seems like overkill to me. Especially if its causing this constant buzzing noise on pea gravel roads.
I have this EXACT issue. Love the truck but this is annoying me so bad! Have you been able to resolve the problem? I removed that speaker grill and no improvement. I've shoved little shims between the blue plastic and the black defrost plastic and seems to slightly improve but still not enough. I think it's plastic rubbing against other plastic on there somewhere. Any ideas?

I was able to shove a strip of felt in on the drivers side between the blue and black plastic at the vent. Passenger side still creaks and buzzes. I plan on stuffing that side sometime this weekend.

That was my first thought but man it's a tight squeeze between the blue and black plastic. Once you got the felt in there did it stop the noise completely? Could you share what you used and did you run it across the whole vent area?

It stopped it on the drivers side of the dash. That's the only side I did this on. Passenger side still buzzes. I cut the felt into a thin strip about 1/2" wide. I bent a coat hanger with a closed loop at the point where I was shoving the strip in. Just kept pushing it down the length until it was in. This worked on the drivers side. I will be doing passenger side today. Honestly if they drove these things here in west Texas in real world conditions they would have found this issue on the prototypes.

Ok heres what I did and it worked. The problem is actually between the dash and the windshield. Mine buzzed and creaked. I bought 1 rectangle of black felt from walmart for .32 cents. They only had 1 sheet in black in the craft department I rolled the entire felt sheet up tightly into a long cylinder. Then using a wooden paint can stir stick, I shoved it down in between the front edge of the dash and the windshield, and stuffed it down just low enough that you cant see it when sitting in the truck. It's pretty tight. I plan on doing this across the entire dash from left defog vent to right defog vent. I only did the right side where it was buzzing. But plan on doing the whole effing dash. For about $1.60 for 5 sheets of black felt, and about 30 minutes of your time, this problem is solved !!! I drove across a bunch of rattly washboard roads out here, and not a peep on all but the roughest stuff. I presume that once I stuff the rest of the dash it will be even quieter.

Hello there. Could you send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to look into your dashboard noise concerns on my end.
I keep seeing your posts saying to send over a private message VIN and dealership info. But I never hear anything about a fix for this dashboard noise. It’s so frustrating to buy a new vehicle and have to have the experience ruined by something that should have been looked into and fixed awhile ago. I’m have a new 2025 and I’m dealing with this annoying pop from the windshield.

The Ford account is inactive. Waste of time sending it a PM.
