I solved the problem on my truck. It's a pretty janky fix, but it's effective. I tried several other ways and nothing fixed it but this.
The core issue on mine is the black defog ductwork rubbing on the bottom of the dash plastic. It's a plastic on plastic rubbing noise, and I think its...
Weird part is when I don't have the lux package selected it shows painted roof and hood stripes....when I select lux package it removes the painted hood and hood stripes but keeps the rest of the BAP (wheels, etc)
Anyone have any top down pics showing the hood decals/paint for the 2025 BAP? There are some stripes or something going on there but you can't get a good look at them with the ford.com ordering tool. Anyone have a pic they can share?
Mine is worse than the video, that piece of metal in there helps a bit. Without that "shim" in there, the sound is a combination of the knocking you hear and a rubbing sound of plastic on plastic.
Does anyone know if you can access that area by the defog vent if you remove the gauge cluster...
Yours sounds the same as mine. I just made a thread about it coincidentally. See my video and confirm if its the same and maybe we get some DIY answers
Does anyone have a video or instructions on how to open up the dash by the defrost vents? I have a rattle coming from the drivers side defrost vent that I cannot stop from the outside no matter what I try. My truck has 3500 miles on it and it's been getting progressively worse since new.
It...
I don't think it has anything to do with this issue right now as I know they're properly adjusted at the moment. They're just not getting enough grip to stop properly. I'm going to hook it up to another truck today and see for sure.
You can get manual or self-adjusting electric brakes. Basically they have a cable setup that connects the shoes to a little clicker that turns the adjustment gear as you apply the brakes. It's supposed to keep you from having to go back under and manually adjust the brakes after the first setup.
I recently installed new 10" electric self-adjusting trailer brakes on a utility trailer that I tow with my EB 4k with integrated trailer brake controller. The brakes were adjusted manually at first and are good there. The trailer brakes are functioning and engaging the brakes normally...
That was my first thought but man it's a tight squeeze between the blue and black plastic. Once you got the felt in there did it stop the noise completely? Could you share what you used and did you run it across the whole vent area?
I have this EXACT issue. Love the truck but this is annoying me so bad! Have you been able to resolve the problem? I removed that speaker grill and no improvement. I've shoved little shims between the blue plastic and the black defrost plastic and seems to slightly improve but still not...
